Excellent place to stop for a night. I work at the university so am hunting out decent places for my commute. His place is clean and quiet. The budget room is very small but really for the price you can’t complain. Would book here again for sure.

Excellent overnight stopover location.

Lovely overnight stay so easily could have stayed longer .The rooms are spotlessly clean and well organised,everything you need and very comfortable beds.
Right around the corner is a supermarket  and a lovely bar for a lovely meal, great place to enjoy a cheeky drink and relax.
It's a short steady walk to the train station and town centre.if your just visiting or passing through for a overnight stay or working in the area it's a great comfortable clean place with parking permit and the owner is  a lovely friendly helpful lady.

Lovely clean gem of a guesthouse

I have been staying at the cheapest room in the guest house (due to budget considerations) for about two weeks now, so I have seen the "busy" nights. The reason  why this was a "budget" room was clearly explained by Maria when I booked the room.  The guest house is located close to the town centre  and there is a large  Asda store located just across the road. The guest house is spotlessly clean. I have slept soundly, comfortably, and without any disturbances every night. It is run by Maria and Jamie, who, although not permanently located on site, are instantly contactable ,and  are more than happy to deal with any queries that may arise in a friendly and efficient manner.

In summation, I would, without hesitation, recommend that, if you are thinking about a stay in Carlisle Town, that the Cornerhouse Guesthouse  is very strongly worth considering.

Immaculate and restful

A humble hotel about ten minutes walk from the city centre - no frills, but exceptionally clean and tidy and efficiently run, and a good atmosphere.

Wide variety of rooms, mostly en suite.
Excellent breakfasts, no bar. Lounge and pool table.

Reception largely unmanned except for check-in, but owners Jamie and Maria always around and helpful.

Parking spaces with permits. 

Excellent value for money - good for discerning travellers on a budget.

Handy for ASDA and a range of other shops, takeaways etc. Vue cinema nearby. Mixed area but safe.

Stayed with a group of friends for 1 night excellent value for money with breakfast, which was very nice. Its exceptionally clean and staff are brilliant. Will definitely be staying again and will be recommending this guest house to anybody who is looking for a stay in carlisle. Thanks for a great stay

Excellent Stay

This was our 2nd visit to Corner House this year and we weren't disappointed this time either.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Rooms are basic but have everything you need - including conditioner (don't often get that).  Each room has a hairdryer, plenty of storage (if you're there for a weekend), tv, tea/coffee/biscuits.

This time we had breakfast and weren't disappointed.  Plenty of cereal, fresh fruit and juices that you can help yourself to.  We were served a choice of tea/coffee, toast (brown/white) and fry up.  Service was great and the food delicious.  We would recommend having breakfast.

It's only a short walk into Carlisle centre and we would definitely stay there again :)

Another exellent stay

I had a room on the ground floor for an overnight en route to Scotland. I have stayed in Carlisle before at the August Bank Holiday weekend, and I know it can be a busy and sometimes noisy place. However, this charming little Guest House, correctly named the Corner House, on the corner of wide streets of terraced houses opening onto the street, was a good find. Its very handy for the city centre, but far enough to be quiet. I wasn't sure it would be, as my room was literally on the corner and on the ground floor, but in fact I slept well in a comfortable bed. The room was arranged as a twin, and was well presented, with all the necessary amenities. I didn't use the  shower but have no reason to think it wouldn't be fine. The decor and soft furnishings were fine for an overnight, and the tv worked fine. 
The breakfast the following morning was very good, quickly served, by the pleasant couple who run the place. I was very pleased with their attention and the cleanliness and atmosphere. The place is not huge, but they have made great use of every corner. There is also a public lounge which I didn't find until the next morning. I will certainly use it again if I go that way.
Paradoxically I learned the next morning that there had been a disturbance during the night at a property across the road, which woke a number of people, but not me! That must be testament to the double glazing!!
I'd also say that it was extremely good value for money, not least because the owners had been expecting two of us, for a price which I thought was modest enough for one person let alone two. Well done.

A very pleasant surprise

had an excellent stay here 8th till the 10th july 2019.
very warm welcome from the onwer who does everything but room 9 spotless as was every room in the guesthouse.the breakfast was wonderful and ample plus freshly cooked.i really enjoyed my time here and wish id stayed an extra few days.highly recomend.


Nice Cozy Guesthouse

We stopped in May 2019 as a starting point for our Hadrians Wall walk. The B&B was very comfortable and I have to say the breakfast was excellent. Overall it was excellent value for money. The room I had was a single room which was perfectly adequate for my needs. Hosts were very friendly. The facility had WIFI and off street parking - we had a mini bus and a permit was provided. Overall a very lovely stay

We booked online and received welcome messages, very pleasant on arrival, the room with en-suite was lovely and clean. Will recommend it to anyone.
