Ambleside

Small resort located perfectly, just a 30 second walk from the shores of Lake Windermere. The friendliest resort staff ever who were obviously proud of the site and were a pleasure to speak to.
A small but functional pool which was perfect for the two of us as we had it to ourselves the 3 times we used it.
Restaurants and amenities in Ambleside were a 10 minute walk away.
We had good weather for February and enjoyed cruising on Windermere as well as visiting many of the National Trust properties nearby.

Off Peak Holiday

Everything went to plan,we had a heavy snow fall on the 2nd day which added too the enjoyment.Going in winter to the lakes is recommended if you are walkers.We used the buses to get to the areas to walk.

Winter break

Although the apartments are small they are functional and cosy. The apartment has ensuite for the main bedroom. There is also a walk in cupboard for drying kit. Great location for Ambleside with hotels and bars providing food nearby. Easy to catch a pleasure boat for a trip on the Lakd

Small but cosy

The apartment was a good size for us as a couple but would be squashed for six people.  It was extremely clean with everything you need when self catering.  The bed was comfy, great big fluffy towels and a fab shower plus bathroom.  Even a wee Christmas tree as we stayed between Christmas/over NY.  A tree with fairy lights in the court yard.  We were fortunate to be allocated one at the front, on the ground floor as requested due to mobility/heart problems so cannot easily climb external stairs. Although on the front hardly any road or resident noise.  Electricity is expensive so be aware if staying in the cold winter months.  We stayed here nine years ago but that was a warm September so electricity then was minimal. Plenty of choice of cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops in the area plus the ferry to Windermere was operating.  Good location for walkers.  Hopefully we will be fortunate to make a return visit. All staff caring and friendly.  

Brilliant apartment in a great location.

The staff and check in process exemplary. Nothing is too much for the staff and they are friendly and willing to help. The apartment was extremely clean and well equipped. Ideal location for exploring the Lake District. I can highly recommend the resort.

Excellent Resort

Lovely little resort in a perfect location over the road from the Lake. It's also over the road from a lovely pub which has a restaurant. 
Only gave the resort 4 stars because our unit the main bedroom felt damp, but no sign of damp

we enjoyed a lovely holiday at Quaysiders in March 
Although wet most of this was at night
we are regular  visitors here and enjoyed visits to theatre in Keswick , Cartmel, Grasmere, Kirkstile inn at Loweswater ( fantastic steak and ale pie), derwentwater, Buttermere and cromack water.
enjoyed the Art shop in Grasmere and enjoyed a great lunch there

pity Kirkstone  pass was closed for March 



holiday at Quaysiders

There are some really good things about this place. The price was fantastic, the location, allocated parking, facilites all as described and very clean. 
I was really only put off by the welcome that I had. I planned my day to arrive at the start of the advertised check-in time. I was called by the receptionist prior to that to ask where I was. It seemed she had come in on her day off and she didn't want to hang around. Perhaps the place needs an update to say to call to confirm your arrival time? 

Some great points but...

The apartment was compact and ok for 4, but would have been very tight for 6. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well- equipped. Due to the cold weather, we had to have the heating on a lot, so the electricity bill was in 3 figures for 1 week - just for general information, we were told the unit charges at the start, so we were aware. The location is convenient-just opposite the Ambleside Pier/Lake Windermere and about a 15 minute walk into Ambleside town.

Cozy 2 bedroom apartment

We had a comfortable stay at Quaysiders Club in Ambleside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was was speedily handled. The apartment was well furnished and had adequate crockery and cutlery as well as pots and pans. The laundry was next to the small indoor heated pool and was free to use, including free laundry powder and softener. One of the bedrooms facing the main road and Windermere was very cold and had a slight draught coming through the window. The shower in the bathroom with the bathtub was weak and it was very difficult to regulate the temperature of the water. It was either too hot or too cold. Nevertheless, we had a comfortable stay. The electricity bill was huge because of the extremely cold winter requiring more use of the electric heaters.
