Disappointed to find hotel closed when we were looking for lunch after visit to Crannog Centre.  Passed so many people also looking for a nice lunch.  Would have thought a few days before Easter would have been serving lunches.
Had suggested here to family, but ended up with nice lunch in Aberfeldy.

Just back from an overnight and it was absolutely fantastic.  Room was beautiful and very spacious.
We had dinner and so many choices.  Breakfast was excellent and all the staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was located in such a peaceful area.  Feel totally relaxed and would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

Overnight

We stayed there only for one night, hotel is in a lovely spot, beds are comfortable and rooms spacious. We stayed with our dog and it wasn't an issue at all: hotel is dog friendly, in the room there was dog welcome pack waiting for us along with bowls. Having an evening meal wasn't an issue either as there is a designated area where we for visitors with dogs. And staff! both reception and F&B are absolutely amazing!

What an experience - totally chilled time, amazing scenery staff are beyond amazing and the food was ace, highly recommend 
Restaurant is really relaxed I had the goats cheese tart snd the lamb steaks both were really well cooked and presentation was lovely. 
Receptionist was a wee legend could not have been more helpful

Amazing short break

Spent a lovely couple of days at the hotel recently, the staff were friendly, helpful, the food was good. our room was lovely with plenty of space for the 2 of us. it was a great base to touring round the local area and we had lovely views of the river.
we will certainly be back

-room was decent (we had one of the upgraded rooms), it was nothing fancy but comfortable and spacious 
-setting is beautiful

-The hotel is a bit run down and scruffy in places

Great

We last stayed at the Kenmore Hotel in 2020 just after first lockdown. We absolutely loved everything about it hence the reason we chose to return. 

Our room, according to our confirmation was a Master Double. We got a twin room, no big deal but it was pretty basic. There were cobwebs from the curtain to the wall. There was a doggy welcome pack - we didn’t take our dog. One window had a blind, the other didn’t. The wardrobe was quite old looking, and the small table thing the same and it also had a missing handle. The room was quite dark even with all the lights on. The bathroom door you had to pull quite hard to close it and I had an issue trying to get hot water in the shower the first morning but seemed fine the next. 

Dinner - menu selection not great, but maybe I’m just fussy. Pretty expensive too. 

Breakfast - was ok but again quite expensive if it wasn’t included in your tariff. 

The staff were all really helpful and friendly.  It’s such a shame that attention to detail seems to be missing. Was it because it’s “off season”? Im not sure. Would we return? At the moment I’m not sure.

Disappointing

We have been for 2 visits recently; once in Dec & again in Feb.  The first time we had a standard room, which although basic provided us with a comfortable nights sleep. In Feb we opted for one of the recently refurbished rooms (Room 22) & it was lovely.  It was large & nicely decorated, as was the bathroom. The only issue we had was that we couldn't put the light above the sink off & I didn't like the light peeping through at night. I did report it & was advised it was a known issue & that the mirrored unit the light was in would be replaced soon. The Hotel staff are great with dogs & provide treats, bowl & a blanket for their use. The Restaurant has lovely views, but we chose to dine with our dog & as such sat in the area between the bar & the restaurant which was just fine. Good choice on the menu & decent standard of food & choice of wine.  The Hotel staff are lovey, but boy things are pretty disorganised at times, tables not set, service a bit slow, replenishment of breakfast items lacking. We really like the place (& the big coal fires) & will go back.  Just hoping the dining services improve soon!

Great Hotel for dog owners

We had a really disappointing stay at the Kenmore over Valentines weekend. In terms of the positives, the staff were all really lovely & friendly, the bed was huge & very comfortable, and the dinner was tasty if a little pricey for what it was. 

Unfortunately the negatives far outweighed the positives for us. When we first arrived in the room, we couldn’t help but notice how dishevelled it was. The very first thing we saw when we walked in was a large chair which had bad staining all over the upholstery. The shower screen & rubber sealant were dirty and there were cracks & stains on the bathroom walls. This doesn’t seem such a big deal until you remember how much you’ve paid for the room. 

Breakfast on both mornings was by far the biggest disappointment. We were told it was served between 8am and 10am, so we arrived just before 9.30, to find there was very little left. A small amount of watery scrambled eggs, some very undercooked bacon and the driest looking sausages I’ve ever seen sat at the buffet, surrounded by debris from other guests which hadn’t been tidied. When we asked about the sausages, we were told that they didn’t have pork sausages today, just Quorn sausages. The menu online offers eggs benedict, smoked salmon, continental cooked meats & cheeses, black pudding, pancakes, crumpets, mushrooms etc, none of which was actually on offer. It was almost comical that everything we needed was not available; despite a buffet layout, it seemed nothing was being topped up by staff when running out. We had to ask for glasses for our juice, milk for the cereal, bread for the toasting machine, ketchup… at one point I asked for some milk for my coffee and the woman brought over - I kid you not - a litre jug of milk, and left it at our table. We had to laugh at the chaos of it all.

The final nail in the coffin was an evening shower that caused a flood in the bathroom. The shower was on for no longer than 3 minutes before the whole bathroom floor was covered in water. Obviously the shower drain hadn’t been cleared during cleaning and was totally blocked, so the water just seeped out under the shower door. 

Again I have to reiterate that the staff were lovely and very understanding, but I just felt that we’ve stayed in hotels before for the same price and experienced a much higher quality. I was reluctant to pay my £220 bill at the end of the stay and I further disappointed that no effort was made by the staff to offer a discount to allow for the issues we’d encountered. Wouldn’t return or recommend.

Truly bizarre & total rip off

I have visited this hotel many times over many many years and seen it at its best and worst. 

This visit we expected the "shabby chic" of old gone  as the place is recently advertised as renovated. I worried the character would be gone and it's has not but.... dogs everywhere and when we got to our superior room the bedding  was covered in dog hairs  and paw marks .... so the three o'clock check in was delayed but well managed by Jade and the cleaning staff ( all be it late !!! ) 

Money has been spent but this was not a "superior room" and the quirky still exists .... taps on upside down in the sink !!!! Telly in the cupboard and a plywood dressing table ! 

The evening meal food is excellent and staff very helpful. 

Breakfast was poor the sausage was cheap the  black pudding dried out,  you could build a foundation with the scrambled egg and no haggis in a Scottish inn!!! The continental breakfast was very limited ,I had to request a fruit salad I got apple ,orange and grape  no frills or extras in this breakfast.

The room ( deep cleaned for covid? )  has a huge cobweb above the bed head ! 

The room was not made up during our stay ... no change of towels.

Saying  all this I will be back it's a place where you stay in a historic and quirky inn within an idyllic setting and the fires, the people, atmosphere  and conversation  ( I always meet someone here ) are great.
