My Happy Home Hostel

I was not a traveler, I simply wanted space from everyone and everything for some time, to work, think and write. I set out to stay for 3 nights, ended up spending a solid 9 days here. It’s homey, it’s clean, the people that come and go are a breath of fresh air—for the most part, and location-wise it’s everything they say in the intro, and a stone’s throw away from the Sunday Farmers’ Market. Albeit the squeamish or weak at heart won’t really be able to go out late night as it is, after all, downtown, and all sorts of...”venders”, let’s say, come out at night, but for my observant eye it was an authentic experience of izmir I hadn’t had in my months of living here. It was fascinating...I took away so much from those nine days and nights. When it’s crowded, it’s definitely cramped, but that, too, is an experience to be had. You will basically run into no problems, and if by any chance you do, Yünüs will make sure to deal with it in no time. He’s a real gentleman. The terrace is a lively little area with a comfy quaint feeling that will draw you back every chance. I meditated here every morning, and spent several nights socializing with the amazing people I was meeting from all over the world. There’s also a little spot where you can work in the second room that looks out onto the street that leads to the famous Kibris Sehitleri. And of course, there’s a lunch table with four chairs downstairs where you can eat and/or work as well. I will be visiting again for the whole experience.
