Loved this renovated old era house in the back lanes of Ayverlik   The owner made us welcome and prepared a terrific breakfast with cheeses etc sourced from local produce served outside in the courtyard  Definitely worth staying 

Fabulous House 

Right from the start we felt so at home! Cengiz has made his place so welcoming. Madra is an renovated old house with authentic high ceiling rooms. Especially during 6 am you might want to open the windows to hear birds' voices, a nice breeze from the sea fills up the room and I believe this is the perfect way to start your day! Cengiz prepares breakfast and brings it to the table. Everything is organic, try the turkish bagel called simit and also the cheese. Olive is the most popular food in ayvalik so it's a must try!  You meet really nice people (other travelers) in the garden during breakfast or at night. We took the pleasure to drink authentic scottish alcohol with other people who stayed at the hotel. It was a blast!

Also I would like to underline how cheap this house was comparing to other options. I was translating for a hotel owner when she was trying to communicate with a tourist at downtown about the price and other stuff and she asked twice what Cengiz was asking for.

Amazing hospitality

elcoming. The breakfast was tasty, nutritious traditional Turkish food. The Pansiyon is a historical Greek building with lots of period features & furniture. We particularly loved the traditional balcony with stained glass windows. Excellent value for money. Good location wherever you can wander around the historic area & the eclectic shops & galleries. All the photos are views from the balcony.

Travelling south we stopped for a couple of nights in Ayvalik and found Madra House.

Run by Cengiz and Diana, it proved to be perfect for my wife and self.  Being at the top end of the age scale, we look for cleanliness, comfort and warm hospitality.  All was provided and I must say, from Diana, her farming upbringing shone through.  Both she and Cengiz could not do enough to ensure that we have a lasting memory of Madra House and Avyalik.
Madra House is well located within Ayvalik but no off-street parking, which is typical of many places that we stayed in Turkey.  The hire car was safe on the street so was not a problem.
The breakfast offered was a both Turkish and 'western'.  A good variety of fresh foods was offered.  
We considered the tariff fair and reasonable, in fact, very good value for what is offered.
We highly recommend Madra House.

we spent 3 days in Ayvalik and stayed at Madra house with a recommendation of a friend who stayed there. it fill all my expectations on a small boutique hotel. Peacefull and quite area , close to center , tasty breakfast and run by a nice couple Diana and Cengiz. 

 Highly recommend it .
