The food is the same every day, the rooms are not exactly clean, the sea is cold. I drove more than 800 kilometers to bathe in the pool... I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. :(((Agencies from Serbia that offer accommodation in this hotel have only half-pancion on offer. The Serbs are not allowed to use it at the hotel. The juice (which is of no quality) is charged at a great price and about the other drink that we are not talking... Every day there was boiled eggs for breakfast, so I got the impression that I would start with a chicken. If they had offered me a refund when I arrived at the hotel, I would have accepted it immediately and came back home.

The terrible stench is spreading through the streets of Sarimsakli throughout the day.

this is not  a  hotel  to  be relaxed .with a noisy  small pool  with  bar people  keep playing  turkish pop music  very  loudly  according to  their  own music  taste.  they keep  entertaining  themselves with  no  regard  for  customers who  just  want to relax in  quiet.there is  no  place if  you  want to  just  sit away from  the sun  and  have your drink in shadow as there is  no  cafeteria  with  nice surroundings. staff is unprofessional. the food  is average. rooms  are too small  and  there is a foul  smell  coming  from  the bathroom. the restaurant  only  open during meals  times and  this is  a problem  for those who  want to  sit and relax . (there  is  no  place  for  just  sitting  like  in  a garden). asked for  two  extra pillows but  got  one  only! they could not  find the second  one. no room  service you  have to  go to  the reception  to get the pillow. amazingly  there is nothing  in  the  fridge  even  water. was told  to  get  water from  outside although   staying  full board! keep  away  from  this  hotel  if  you  dont want to  ruin  your  precious holiday!!

Not ever going Back there!

I have been to many hotels in many different regions in Turkey but this one stands alone. Turkish hotels in general offer an amazing level of service and cleanliness, the Mare is the exception - it looks quite nice and modern from the outside, once we entered we were greeted by surly a receptionist and shown along a corridor who's carpet was threadbare and stained into a room that was, to be kind, shabby. The sockets were hanging loose from the walls, the curtains were dusty, the room stank of smoke, the cupboard was so worn out it refused to close it's door, the bathrooms grouting was caked in something I don't wish to imagine and there was a family of mosquito's flying around. The only reason we stayed was because it was late and we were exhausted from travelling around the amazing sites within easy reach (Assos, Pergamon, Troy etc) we had stayed in some lovely hotels on Cunda island previously and would recommend travellers to do likewise as the food and accomodation on offer on the island, just a short distance from Ayvalik, are of a standard that we have come to expect in Turkey.
