Tembo Tamu B&B

Choosing TemboTamu B&B was one of our best decisions along our travels in Tansania with respect to accommodation. It was - I can say - perfect. They organised the airport shuttle and we were welcomed by Mary, one of the two women (the other one is Vivianne) who run the house and kitchen while Sandra the owner is not around. The house and garden and accommodation are spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great - with good coffee, fruits, cereal, toast, eggs in any form you like, homemade jam - and highly enjoyable in the tasteful setting of well chosen local furniture and tiles and the beautiful garden. We stayed in the two bedroom cottage. Lots of space to relax.  Quiet surroundings in general. Sometimes barking of dogs and the usual prayer. Many ideas written in a book as to where to go or eat (for instance 'More than a drop', a beautiful garden restaurant in walking distance with excellent views of Kilimanjaro. For our way back to TemboTamu their security guard accompanied us). Sandra, to whom we talked by phone, offered we could make payment via credit card or transfer the money on their company USD account. I’m considering going to Moshi (a pleasant small town) just to spend a holiday in TemboTamu. We stayed for 5 days and didn’t leave Moshi easily. The B&B ist not far from the centre (about 30 min. on foot). Taxi costs are about 10000 TZS return. Safaris are offered by TemboTamu but we didn't try.
