We stayed at the Villa for 5 nights with our family of 5 and it was a true paradise.  Everyone had their own large rooms with bathrooms and balconies/terraces.  The property is very well maintained and it has a gorgeous garden with a covered pier overlooking the ocean where I spent hours reading/sleeping and enjoying the wind.  You see nobody and nobody sees you.  The house is fully staffed and Haji and Salim looked after us very well and the cook could accommodate by daughter's food intolerances.  The beach is public and not big which is nice during the day...as of 16.00, lots of locals come to play football till sunset.  There is security on the property and no worries about leaving devices lying around during the day/night.  For a family of 5 there was more than enough space and I believe the house can accommodate 10-12 people.  

The staff begins their day early and start to sweep and clean the pool at 7.00 which was for us a bit too early as you can hear everything. through the shutters.  We asked if they could possibly start later, which they did  and we appreciated.  I would say that there could be more variety offered on the daily menus which we choose at breakfast. The food is delicious and I am sure there could be more creative choices to offer.

Once you are there, hard to want to move or leave for excursions.  Che che vule is a true gem!

Hidden gem in the green on the beach

We spent two wonderful weeks at the Che Che Vule.

Location: The location is perfect, just on the beach, but because the house itself and the private pool is still secluded, a bit higher up from the beach, you get a combination of having just some few meters to go bathing, while having your private space near the house. The view over the beach and ocean is great.

The staff: After extensive travelling over the years, I have experienced all kinds of good and bad service. The service, at our stay under the lead of Haji and Salum, was beyond excellent, maybe one of the best we encountered. Even though I can at times be demanding, they accommodated each and every request with elegance and to the best of their ability and they made the stay on of the best me and my family have had.

Food: We were served both European-style and local food and both were amazingly well-prepared every day. I hope they keep their chef(s), because I actually do not think it is easy to consistently succeed with the cooking each and every day, but they did.

Snorkling & bathing: The tides change the water level of the ocean rather much during the day so although you can always bathe just near the beach anytime you probably want to catch the fewer hours of higher water if you like swimming.

All in all, we had a wonderful vacation and we definitely want to come back. I can only warmly recommend this place

Two wonderful weeks at the Che Che Vule

The location of the villa is perfect; one of my simple yet favourite parts of our stay was walking down the private walkway to your own dedicated access directly onto the beach where there is white powder soft sand that was just incredible. The colour of the ocean is crystal clear, sparkling at all times of day & stunning weather low tide or high tide. We joined for 3 dives around Mnemba Atoll conservation area; absolutely amazing. We have dived in a lot of great places around the world, but Mneba is amongst our top favourites.
The villa itself is spotless; beautifully built & decorated with open, airy and light interiors featuring wooden beams, 4 poster beds and local shells EVERYWHERE - I was obsessed. The garden & pool is very well maintained and green, you feel very private & secluded, totally immersed in nature- exactly what I wanted.
The staff; Fabian, Haji, Eddy, Juma & Tatu - all are very professional, welcoming, friendly and superbly accommodating. We were thoroughly impressed especially with how amazing the staff were. We loved that we didn't feel like this was a typical hotel stay, but in a friendly, home/family environment. 
The food - amazing. We loved the options, each meal was perfect. A private outdoor meal setting amongst either pool/garden view or beach view. We stayed over the valentines day weekend & it was perfect.
I'm already planning my next trip back & hope to book the entire villa! ♡

A little piece of heaven on earth

We were so lucky to be able to stay here, especially as the house is often rented out as a whole property. 

We loved the laid back and simple style of the house, and all of its comfy lounging areas which had views of the sea and amazing tropical garden. We felt so relaxed spending our days rolling from day bed to sun lounger lounger, wallowing in the pool, reading on our giant balcony or on the jetty and occasionally popping out the garden gate for a stroll on the beach or in the ocean. The only thing I would have liked different is a stronger light in the bedroom, as was too dark for reading after nightfall at about 7pm. 

I have two little regrets 1) that we only stayed for 3 nights - I’d have loved a little longer! And 2) that I didn’t take more gifts for the local kids - when you drive through the village, you will see that they have very little, and that any toys or clothes you can pop in your packing will be greatly appreciated.


Total peace and relaxation. 

We had a great time in this beautiful villa in Matemwe. If you are looking for some peaceful relaxation time, this is the place to be. The decor is eco friendly and the rooms are spacious, we felt at home. The staff is very attentive, always there when you need them and never too imposing. And the food is just the best. Salum (caretaker) and Fabian (manager) were great hosts and they made sure that we were well taken care of. Salum accompanied us on a reef walk and also taught us how to play Boa. All in all, we had a lovely time at Che Che Vule.

The best kept secret of Zanzibar 

Our family stayed  in March 2019: a perfect welcome by Fabian, very nice house design, an excellent Chef and devoted staff. The pool was the place to be for our kids. For our next trip to East Africa for sure we will stay again. Pol.

A PERFECT PLACE

Our family of 7 members stayed for 10 days in this beautiful and charming place. From the very beginning we felt comfortable and overwhelmed by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. In particular we want to emphasize the delicate food through which we had a feeling of getting a thorough taste of Zanzibar! It was really delicious and served in a very professional way! The staff also had an ongoing attention in keeping the place nice and clean, and we felt very safe regarding to the hygienic matters. We also appreciated all the help with arranging and getting us to excursions around the island, so that we could truly experience the beauty of Zanzibar. This has been the best holiday and we will cherish it forever. 

A perfect place to stay! 

Great Staff, Nestled between a lush garden, overlooking a "private beach couple of meters down the path, Che Che offers a small but well designed pool just face to the villa. just besides you will find a Jetty with a private area at the end. Staff is super friendly and professional, Fabian, our host made sure we had a great weekend me and my friends. we were 5 staying there , absolutely loved it.

Perfect Getaway

Before we arrived, we were afraid that we might have too high expectations and were disappointed - the reality exceeded all expectations
The villa is amazingly designed and maintained to a high standard. A friendly and professional staff is always available for all help and advice, all without bothering and disturbing, so that you can enjoy privacy
As a family that travels a lot around the world we can point out that the villa was certainly among the leading places we hosted
