This place is perfectly located on the beach. Quiet and scenic yet near enough to main island communications. Our room was really spacious and clean and the staff friendly, approachable and helpful. Highly recommended.

Unbeatable location

We rented the 2 persons apartment at the ground-floor. In front of the entrance there is little terrace with sea view. 4/5 The 2 single beds guarantee a good night sleep. 4/5.
The apartment was clean, the kitchen compleet with oven, microwave, e-stove for 4 cooking positions, refrigerator with freezing partition. 4/5. The apartment furniture: coach 4/5 and eating table with 4 chairs. 4/5. The bath room  is big enough to house the shower, toilet and sink. 4/5. The location is very good, near the beach and various nature reserves for bird watching. 5/5. Just as remark, 2 toilet paper rolls instead of only one isn't a luxe! The host is very friendly with a great feeling for serviceability.  4/5

A good place to explore Northern Oland, but it isn't an hotel

We are a family of four and enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is basic, but offers all you need. In our apartment, there was one bed room and we had to use the couch to sleep on (not the latest IKEA model).
Unfortunately, no WiFi was available in the room, only at reception. We were told that this was temporary.

Great view and quiet location

I can't believe this place.  Horrible.  It looks nothing like the pictures.  Our room was so dirty, the smell of mildew overwhelmed you.  Bathroom was so nasty.  Dirty sponges on plumbing, nasty shower, no toiletries.  You had to make up your own bed the moment you arrived.  Flies were everywhere.  You had to wear socks all the time because you didn't want to walk on the floors.  Webpage very deceiving.

Oland, Sweden

We recently returned from a trip to Sweden where we spent 5 nights at Aleklinta Gard on the island of Oland. We were visiting with relatives for the Midsummer festivities and they are the ones who suggested this complex as they live nearby and are familiar with it. We had a one bedroom apartment on the upper level with a beautiful view of Kalmar Sound. A small beach was across the street and although we did not actually go to it we did see a number of people  sunbathing and swimming. 

The apartment was simply decorated but spacious and very clean.  The shower appeared to be new and had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The twin beds were comfortable and there was plenty of closet space to store all of our luggage as well as our clothes. It was well equipped except for the fact that the linen was not included. We were fortunate that our relatives provided sheets and towels for us. This might be a problem for someone traveling and not planning to vacation here. At times we had trouble with a wi-fi connection in the room but could get one by going outside to the reception area.

Anders, the owner, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about Oland. He is an official Oland guide and we were lucky to have him give us an interesting lecture/presentation on the beach one morning. He talked about the history and geology of Oland, particulary the kalkstone which is found in abundance on the island and quarried there.

Oland has plenty to offer - miles of coastline, historical sites, nature preserves, beautiful farmland, art galleries and shops, museums, good restaurants and coffee shops and plenty of friendly people. It is considered one of the spots in Sweden where the sun shines most often and it is easily reached from the bridge in Kalmar. I highly recommend a visit to Oland and a stay at Aleklinta Gard.
