We stayed a week with Jo and Jon at Ocean View, and it felt like home. The room we had was huge with a 30ft balcony looking out across the Atlantic. On our second day my wife had to go to the Doctor and Jon ensured we were there when they opened at 8am to be seen straight away. The previous night I left my phone in a taxi, and Jon spent time calling around, and my phone was returned the following morning. Two examples of how the owners go above and beyond to ensure their guests are happy. They also invited us to join them for drinks on two occasions which you wouldn't get at many establishments. Must say a word about Joanna who is possibly the most driven and focussed person I have ever met. She expects the best from others and never fails to deliver the highest of standards, and her breakfasts were simply stunning. The only negative is that the guest house is quite secluded, and hiring a vehicle may be advisable, though Jon & Joanna will always give you a lift in to town when they can. Thank you so much Jon and Joanna for all you did for us during our week at the beautiful Ocean View.

Wonderful stay with wonderful hosts

There is something very special about Ocean view boutique guest house, 
To begin, the elegant villa commands a truly beautiful view down to the ocean taking in its pretty mature gardens and the golf course and then the blue of the Caribbean Sea.
At night the stars and the moon are impossibly bright surreal really!
Joanna and her husband Jonathan, along with their team including Phil and David, offer a very personal service in their beautiful home.
Our room was large elegant and very comfortable ,
The breakfasts and dinners superb! and given that I’m coeliac I really don’t get to say that too often.
They by design, or natural instinct encouraged us to team up with the other guests in the villa and we had some very lovely meals, beachy afternoons and one very memorable bbq
Thank you so much, we’ll remember this fondly for a very long time xxxxx

Something special

We spent two nights in this guesthouse. We received a very warm welcome and many tips for the rest of our trip. The houses and rooms are very large and pretty. There is a superb swimming pool and a magnificent view of the ocean. Breakfast is fabulous with homemade products, fresh fruit and it changes every day.

A wonderful stay

The villa was absolutely perfect thanks to our hosts JOHAN and ALAN SMITH. The villa itself was gorgeous and the ocen view was spectacular. They have everything you could ever want.

Perfect Accomodations Perfect Vacation

Beautiful villa with fantastic view. Lovely clean and spotless rooms all ensuite.  Relaxed and intimate atmosphere.  Joan and Alan (proprietors) very helpful with places to go and see plus info on the culture. The sort of villa that I imagine wouldn't look out of place in Hollywood.

Relaxing holiday at Ocean View

Had a wonderful vacation at this location.  Joan and Alan, the proprietors, were very accommodating and helpful with suggestions of local sights to see, and restaurants to visit.

The accommodations were excellent; beautiful rooms, great pool and the view from Oceanview is exceptional with a very welcome breeze.

Will be back next year !

Great stay at Oceanview!

Today is my last day at Ocean View Villa, after two weeks here I still don't want to leave. The Smiths are excellent hosts and will provide you with everything you need to know about the island. When we arrived at the airport a private driver picked us up and took us to the villa. Upon arrival, Alan and Joan and their courteous staff greeted us and offered complimentary rum punch while everyone got to know each other. Dmitri, the private bartender was also very helpful and creative, he taught us quite a bit about the island. Doris, Allison, Yasmin and Nadjna were very friendly and kept the property spotless and well maintained. The property is located on a beautiful part of the island and a short walk or drive to the beach. Gros Islet, the nearest town, has a very fun street party with modern music and dancing every Friday night. Even though we were tired from our long flight we still had a great time at the street party. Mr. Smith is well liked around the island and dropping his name will often get you special treatment in the nearby restaurants and bars. 

The property is a beautiful 40,000 square ft. mansion. Each room is equipped with an ensuite and many rooms have private balconies. All of the rooms have very high ceilings, marble tile and AC. There is a gorgeous outdoor pool with a breathtaking view of the ocean where you can watch the kite surfers in the distance. Breakfast is served every morning at 8 and was very good. Our group had people with a variety of dietary restrictions, all of which were accommodated generously. They also have a handicap accessible room and the property is wheelchair friendly throughout. There is fast Wi-Fi and many private places to read or work. Each room has a TV, but I never used it because I was having so much fun.

The Smiths will organize any activities that you may want along with recommendations, this makes things a lot easier because you can just relax and enjoy the vacation. Things I did while I was here: Boat tour of the Pitons, hiked Gros Piton, hiked to many isolated secret beaches (just ask the Smiths about secret beach), running everyday, dancing at the street party, Karaoke, many great restaurants of any type (my favorites for local cuisine were Flavors of the Grill and Marjorie’s), shopping at Rodney bay, visiting Castries and Soufriere, going to a volcano, a chocolate plantation and so much more.  

Joan is an excellent chef and if you are lucky she will offer you her delicious creations. Allen is retired but still well connected to the music scene and many famous musicians frequent his property. He has plenty of great stories about his career as a drummer for Rod Stewart and others. He will also tell you about his adventures working for the Queen. The Smiths were both generous, excellent hosts and I can say without exaggeration that Ocean View was among the most luxurious accommodations I have experienced. This has been one of my favorite vacations and I am sad to leave.
