Very bad experience. First of all, place and especially bathroom is much worse then it is on pictures. Even for Sri Lanka, there are too many insects, especially cockroaches and big ants (which I was afraid may get into my bags and travel further with me). 
Don’t recommend for long stay - no hot water, no cleaning (I had it once during 12 days). The road is very dark which sometimes was unsafe. 
It’s cheap, but it’s still not worth the money.

Terrible experience and terrible host

Friendly staff, clean rooms. I would strongly recommend this place for a big group of visitors. Unawatuna beach is close by and along with many good restaurants. Good quality furniture, spacious rooms. 

Quiet and peaceful place

There are here the following rooms: upstairs a big room, a bit pricy,
The 5 cabanas about rs. 5000 and the small white one is 3000 Rs. The last one, is OK, simple. Good bed and net.
Only fan. Attached simple bathroom.
Only cold water. We found it little bit, neclacting small details to be honest. Bathroom was leaking, so all the time the floor is soaking wet..you get a towel, but that's it. We had to ask for a pcs of soap, a glas.. If the standard was a bit higher, put 2 glasses, a small bottle water, a kettle etc. Would be perfect.. 
Breakfast took 45 min.. OK, but very basic.
Had to ask for servets, salt, fruit, etc.
4pcs toast, margarine, jam and tea. 
The two boys who are running it, were not very attentive at all..
They were not there, no one except the dog, at night, and they were sitting on the chair in front of our cabin, legs up, which is not appropriate..
We stayed a couple of nights, it was very peaceful, the dog is a sweetheart..
Payment, only cash! 

Quiet place

My girlfriend and I stayed here and we had a great time! The hostel is very relaxed and the breakfast is very good. The location is quiet but still close enough to the mainstream street. 
They also rent motorbikes which is great for a day trip to Galle or somewhere else. The rooms are really big with a nice hot shower and also a bath!

Great hostel

I stayed 3 nights at Jasmine Cabanas while in Unawatuna. It was a perfect stay from the beginning to the end. The quite location among the greenery, and the singing birds in the morning, still at a convenient distance to the Unawatuna beach (about 20 minutes walk) - or if you do not want to walk, they have a complimentary tuk tuk that will drop you off and pick you up at your desired time - the spacious and clean rooms, the very comfortable bed. and all the fest of the facilities make it the perfect spot for the ones who like me want to combine the peace of the jungle and the noise of the beach in a percentage chosen by myself :) It is the perfect spot for couples, as well as for families (the place is very child friendly, an has kids facilities like a trampoline and a padding pool), but also for friends and lone travelers. I kept the best for last, the hosts, Nalaka and his wife, Christa, as well as their help Dhulanga are amazing people, ready to indulge your every wish be it a pick up, a lovely dinner, advice about the area or a tour around the country. They also own a place in Galle (at about 1 km walk from the Fort) called Onrose that offers excellent facilities at an unbeatable price. Thank you,Jasmine Cabanas for a lovely stay. I will for sure return!!!

Piece of heaven!

Jesmine cabana is a fantastic place with lots of athmosphere and beautiful booth the rooms and terraces and of course the garden. Warm and friendly staff you really feel at home. Most recommennded!!👍👍

Paradise of unawatuna

We stayed here for 8 nights. It was so quiet and peaceful. A beautiful place to relax. We had a car and was easy to park inside. It felt like home! 

The cabanas are very spacious and beds very comfortable. Aircon is great. Breakfast was delicious with selection of fruits, toast, yummiest Jam, eggs and tea/coffee. We had sri lankan breakfast one morning and it was delicious!!! 

The staff were always friendly and helpful. If you ask they are always happy to help!! Every morning greeting us with a hello and asking about our day in the evening. Was very nice and relaxing.

We had some troubles with our car and the owner was very very helpful to getting it fixed. He took us to repair place and his staff picked us up and dropped off. We are very thankful to them for this. They are wonderful helpful people! 

We would definitely stay here again if we come to Unawatuna!!! It felt like home.
