Moss has a certain charm to it that isn't quite Sri Lankan, but one that could certainly only be found here. Built around a lush courtyard, the space connects you with the fragrance and energy of the jungle lying just beneath the city streets of Colombo. 

The spacious rooms are bespoke in their design, with a focus on soft, natural woods, white walls, and polished concrete floors. The bathrooms feel modern, and hot water is a welcome treat when you've got an air conditioned room. 

Common areas are comfortably furnished and feel inviting. An array of books congregate on coffee tables, in case you aren't traveling with one. And the communal mac computers provide access to the web should you need it. Speaking of, there's solid wifi here as well.

And I'd be remiss to exclude the staff from my review... Polite, friendly, and chill, the Moss staff are your homies away from home. Expect your needs to be taken care of promptly and with respect.

Comfy Spaces, Thoughtful Touches

Spent one night with a bunch of my closest friends and it was an amazing experience. Firstly, the actual location is pretty central to Colombo. The hotel itself was extremely clean, stylish and a great place to chill and have a good time. The rooms were amazing and those bathrooms <3 The staff were friendly and very accommodating as well.Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing evening or even to have a nice night with a group of friends.

Made my night

I had an amazing stay at Moss Colombo. The location is great to explore the city, central but still quite. It's very clean and with a lovely decorated sitting area where you can hang out. The breakfast tastes wonderful. And the very attentive, helpful and friendly staff rounds it all up! A peaceful place for a great stay in Colombo and that said a big recommendation!

Amazing place in 

Only stayed in this place for 1 night but from what I can tell it is a great spot. Clean spacious rooms with smartly thought through minimalistic design. Pristine bathroom / shower area. Place is quiet and relaxing (both are virtuous features in a loud city such as Colombo). BnB's management and support staff were very helpful. Location is perfect - close to main attractions. Beyond all this it is great value for money!

Stayed for 1 night - wish could stay for longer

We stayed a night here at the start of our holiday in Sri Lanka.

Service was great, breakfast delicious and room clean and comfortable.

The artwork and design is exceptional.

Also love the avoidance of single use plastics with potable water available in glass bottles. 

Comfortable and serene

Moss Colombo is an affordable bed and breakfast situated in Colombo. A quiet oasis in the hustle and bustle of the fast-paced city, it features a beautiful indoor courtyard garden. The hotel consists of 14 rooms, all a perfect blend of style and comfort.

Beautiful

Wonderful bnb in the heart of Colombo, walking distance to many places of interest and entertainment, e.g. Barefoot, Gallery Cafe, the DBU and too much else to mention. Super comfy bed and lots of space in King Room. Staff are cheerful, friendly and extremely helpful, special mention to Shauntel and Mano. Attractive spaces throughout with interesting design and artwork.

Superb! 

Moss is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of Colombo. Located in Thunmulla it is tucked in from all the noise and bright lights of the city. The rooms are cozy and very comfortable. I had stayed in the dormitory a few nights and the sleeping experience was 5*. If you're in the city on a specific budget Moss is the plae for you. The breakfast is quick, the smoothie bowls are on point.

Convenient, Cozy and Comfy

I had booked two rooms in this hotel during a peak season and confirmed twice with the hotel management on my booking confirmation status. They agreed with everything and told that i would be charged through booking.coms payment system within a given date. I also made my air ticket bookings based on the hotels confirmation and availability. The season was peak and i wasnt getting any more hotels besides this. Couple of days later (9days before my stay) i went through my bookings to update my credit card details and suddenly i get an email from the hotel stating my booking has been cancelled. When called the reason was (we are facing plumbing issues currently)however my booking was still 9days due. 
What was more pathetic is the receptionist cudnt give any logical reason/proof of issues and told me to call manager who didnt receive a single call himself. Moreover the manager kept his call on a voicemail which kept on saying “YES SIR”. So everytime i tried asking a question to the manager, the voicemail replied “YES SIR”.

Horrible customer service

Moss was simple but everything we needed. Clean, great staff, and generous breakfast. Not the hotels fault but just to say a lot of construction going on around the hotel, but quiet at night. Lots of eating places nearby.
