Posada de Muño

I stayed one night at Posada de Muno while walking the del Norte route of the Camino de Santiago. The posada is not available on any booking website but the proprietor responds promptly to an email and was happy to reserve a room on request. They accept only cash payments but the room was so reasonably priced that this was no problem. The posada is located on the main road through Munorrodero only about 100 meters from where the Camino turns off. The building is attractive and there is a lovely grassy lawn area with shaded tables to one side. My room was on the ground floor and fairly standard although somewhat bigger than others that I have had alone the way. It contained twin beds and not much else besides a small table in the window nook. The tiled floor was a nice touch. The bathroom was bigger than most. There was wifi but a notice in the reception area warned that it only worked in some of the rooms. It was just functional in my room but better in the hallway. I loved the outdoor space which was just perfect for the lovely sunny afternoon and the laundry line was a bonus that would be appreciated by any Camino walker. The proprietor spoke excellent English and was very helpful. She warned that the only restaurant is Munorrodero only opened for lunch and would be closing at 4PM and she offered to get me anything that I wanted from the supermarket when she drove there later in the day. She also refused payment for the bread that she bought for me. Definitely over and above the usual service that one gets. Highly recommended.
