* Note - our rating for this property is based on the fact we specifically wanted a quiet, chilled vibe venue to relax - the pool is not very big but it's perfectly adequate for all ages. You're 5 mins from the sandy beach and bars / cafes / restaurants which suited us. 

Last minute booking, super helpful team prior to arrival with clear communication around accessing the apartments. We had no problem getting straight into our apartment - it was large with a dining room, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and double bed. Additionally there was a private sun terrace which was bliss. We had our breakfast up there with stunning views across the bay.

If you're looking for a quiet, chilled vibe with amazing locally produced food / drinks, then this is a great venue. 
The STAR of the business is a lady called Alexandria who is the Manager - she is super positive, very helpful, is always on hand to find solutions, has heaps of energy and is a real asset to this company.

Perfect location for a relaxing break....

We were on a fairly tight budget but liked the look of the area of Arenal D’en Castell so gave these apartments a try. After a week here, we are having an amazing time. Although the apartments are full, it is never crowded by the pool or noisy. Town and beach are easily walkable although the whole area is very hilly. Alexandra, the owner is just lovely and so helpful. The main selling point for us though is the view from our apartment. We were lucky enough to have one with two balconies, one that faces the pool and is always in the sunshine, and one in the shade that faces the beach and sea. It’s spectacular! Having been to Moraira on mainland Spain a couple of years ago, and found everything so expensive, we weren’t sure what we would be able to afford to do in Menorca but buses are very reasonable here. There is a bus to Mahon, and also to Fornells and Es Mercadal. We had an amazing evening in Es Mercadal where there is a weekly (Thursday) night market with bands playing etc and really interesting locally made products for sale.

Also worth a walk from Arenal was over to the adjacent tiny fishing village. My two kids had an amazing time climbing the rocks and looking in all the rock pools. There’s also a diving board set up to go into the sea there but we weren’t quite brave enough to give that a go!
All in all we are in love with Menorca and have managed so much on a very tight budget. The apartments would be spectacular with a bit of updating but then they would become too popular and expensive so I’d rather have them just the way they are.
The only thing that would be nice would be if the bar below opened for a bit longer and had a bit more life in the evenings eg. ran some events like the other bars in town.

Lovely little gem

We arrived late on a Friday but there was a note directing us to our apartment. We had a lovely sea view and whilst you could argue that the apartment could do with updating everything was clean and with everything you needed for your stay. On meeting Alexandra the next morning we were given a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble.  A short walk took you down hill to the beach and there were bars and restaurants within easy walkable reach. We had a late flight home but Alexandra managed to organise us a late checkout (small additional cost understandably) and made a point of saying goodbye to us as we were leaving. We will definitely return.

Such a warm welcome

Arrived for a 1 week stay. Fab location and clean throughout. Alexandra at reception was great..really helpful ..we had no kettle or toaster but within 15 mins she had arrived with them . Loved the roof fan in the bedroom...apartment was spacious both inside and out. Pool area was clean but everything is getting on a bit..it would pay to freshen up equipment but apart from  that it was great value and we'll be back.

Good value for money

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at these apartments with our 4 year old granddaughter. We arrived late morning on Tuesday and we were warmly welcomed by a very friendly Alexandra on reception. Our apartment 202 was ready for us and Alexandra helped us to take our cases up.  

The apartment was fine, basic and in need of refurbishment but it was clean enough and had a lovely view from the balcony, which was in full sun during the morning. There was a large area outside of the front door which had the sun in the afternoon/evening so we took the chairs from the balcony out one evening to have drinks out there before going for dinner. Our beds were really comfortable too and we all slept really well whilst there. Although all the apartments were occupied,the area was very quiet. It was a short walk to the beach and the quickest way we found was left out of the complex, cross over the road and follow it down and round to the beach. If we went right out of the hotel,although still not too far,there were quite a lot of steps to get down to the beach. The beach is fantastic and is absolutely perfect for kids. 

Pool was adequate for the amount of apartments there were and our granddaughter enjoyed her time in the shallower side. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool, although no cushions on them. There weren't many parasols and a few of them were broken.

There was a bar/restaurant (kanes) attached to the complex but although there was seating for it around the pool, the bar and restaurant wasnt open until 6pm each day (closed all day Thursdays) Not sure if it opens at lunchtime in peak season. Food we had there was really nice and reasonably priced and happy hour (2 for 1 on all drinks) is 6 till 8 each evening.   

We had a very late flight home on the friday night but unfortunately we couldnt get a late check out as all the rooms were fully booked. Alexandra did everything she could to make our last few hours there easier so a massive shout out to her. She let us leave our cases in the office after reception was closed and provided us with towels so we could shower after we had finished at the beach and pool for the day.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. However we found that there wasnt an awful lot to do in the area in the evenings to keep a 4 year old entertained and so the 4 days we spent there was enough.

Quiet apartments, relaxing stay

Arrived at 9.30pm place looked deserted. No one at reception just a note to tell us which room we were in. Main complaints were : kettle was broken and dangerous (replaced) portable radiator had a broken leg (replaced);the glass shelf in the bathroom was hanging off- fixed. The patio doors were stuck - fixed. The bedroom light switch was broken- not fixed. The whole place smelt damp - especially the kitchen units. Needs totally updating, the cast iron bath was chipped and rusty etc etc. The outdoor pool was cold and dirty plus the sunbeds were dirty with a black mould on some of them! On a plus point the location is pretty good , near to supermarket and restaurants with good sea views. The reception only opens 8am - 4 pm and closed all day Wednesday so no one there outside of these hours. At the beginning of the season  I would expect everywhere to be fresh and clean but not the case here. Would not recommend unless there are some significant improvements.
