Needed quite time away. This was the absolute ideal place. Hans and Esther were very friendly. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended 

Awesome Getaway

Great venue and amazing hospitality - lovely break away from the city! we had normal load shedding but we went to relax and be calm which is exactly what we got. we stayed for 9 days and had an amazing time. Animals, friendly people and a pool next to the mountains, absolute bliss!

Amazing Getaway!

It's the 1st time we stayed on a farm and the experience was absolutely awesome. It was so quite, tranquil and restful. The hiking trails, watching the animals, the birds, - absolutely awesome!, nothing could be better if you are the country type. The housekeeper, Esther was excellent.  Made us feel so at home and was very helpful and friendly. However, the highlight of the weekend was the host, Hans. We actually had some urgent stuff to do on the computer and although we carried our wifi, we couldn't get a signal and Hans very kindly let us use his computer over 2 days!!!  Hans, many, many thanks. Much appreciated. Will most definitely return.  Excellent weekend getaway.

Thaba Manzi Ranch is a best of the best farms especially for children. They learn how to milk cows, look after lambs, ride the horses and take care of the farm animals. The views are also spectacular with the mountain and blue sky pretty clear. You can also go bike hiking and braai in the yard. Self catering with electricity and bathroom. Perfect for the entire family.

The tree behind the rooms needs, to be cut it disturbs when the is wind. The road to the place needs to be scaped small cars struggle on the road but overall the place amazing views and waking up to the animal sounds



Beautiful Environment and very nice quite place.

This was one of my best Bush holiday's so far. I normally only go on holiday's to the ocean. I found this little ranch and we decided to visit. It was so relaxing and all of our needs where met. The units was clean and very comfortable. The pool and the surrounding areas are well kept. There is so much to do in the area and the travel distances aren't far either, it is situated in the cradle of human kind. This destination is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing break in the middle of nature.

Enjoyed the afternoons at the pool, relaxing.

New Years at Thaba Manzi Ranch

We thoroughly enjoyed the simple rustic farm beauty. The scenery and the accommodation was perfect for us with our three well trained dogs. Staff are friendly and did not infringe on our privacy and were lovely. Pool was clean and fun and so was the short cut grassy areas. The cattle were quite close by fairly often and the dogs mostly were very well behaved, the friendly horses were also a treat. The hike up to the top of the mountain was great and we all made it though it was tough at times. The historic graveyards and highvelt bush was exactly what we wanted. Ticks were nor a problem but there were a lot of flies- it's a cattle farm :)  

Thaba Manzi review

A great getaway from the city. The ranch is tranquil and just what we needed. The animals are lovely to watch as they roam the fields. Our dogs loved the farm thoroughly. Ensure you have the directions from the website to assist you with getting to the destination.

Summer holiday

The weekend away was great, on arrival Ester welcomed us and usher us to our room, she helped carry bags and ensured we settled in just fine. 

The rooms are clean and spacious and have everything you would need for a weekend away. 

A braai right next to the porch ensured that we had a fire for food and warmth on a chilly august evening. 

A good hiking trail provided us an opportunity get out into the wilderness and see some game, Blesbok, Ostriches, Zebra and a several species of local birds. 

The rooms are quite close together on the farm so it’s a community affair rather than a secluded get away. 

There are lots of locations to visit in the area and Thaba Manzi is located nicely in the centre of a few of these.
