Thabametsi is a really great farm stay for those wanting to just get out and relax for a long weekend. Along with all the farm animals its also really great for kids. Also thanks to the hosts who went out of their way to accommodate us with respect to special requirements.,

Break away from the city !

I was having the time of my life until we went to the swimming pools. Arrived and received very well by Johannes with my 8 lady friends. I was happy with the animals and the farm set up and we got excited and went swimming on arrival. I was disappointed when we were told that we were making unnecessary noise at the pools and it was disturbing other "Guests". That time we were not singing and we didn't even have music on, but it was just 9 ladies chatting and laughing in the pools. I got switched off completely and I know I will not be going back there.

Girls trip away

Attended a wedding at a different venue, so didn't spend a lot of time on the farm.  The accommodation was clean and neat and had everything required for an overnight stay.  Enjoyed the free-roaming farm animals, made friends with the sheep and 1 of the cows, which we called Clarabelle.

Thabametsi Farm Review

The friendly owner Ana made sure that our stay was comfortable and happy. We were moved to the Squirrel cottage when we found that the accommodation that we had booked was inappropriate for my 86 year old father. Our party of 4 adults and a small dog were exceedingly satisfied staying for four weekday nights at the cottage. The peace and calm was welcomed, refreshing us all. There were hikes and swimming for the energetic and a lovely sunny veranda with a great view for my Dad, who was not so energetic. The farm animals are adorable to interact with. Although I do believe that the member of the party that had the best time was Isla our dog who ran about the farm, loving every minute, enjoying the space and freedom. She quickly made friends with the two well socialised resident farm dogs and couldn't wait to get up in the mornings to begin her adventures. If you are looking for a happy, family, farm experience this is definitely the place.

Lovely and peaceful

It was a great way to bond and relax with my family. It catered for both the extrovert and introverted personalities we have. I truly enjoyed having my time and the rest of my family enjoyed exploring the place.

Family bonding

We stayed for only one night with our young daughter and Labrador. It's a family friendly place with a variety of farm animals and a great place to unwind! Also not too far to drive from Gauteng.
Will definitely recommend this for families with socialized dogs to consider as the friendly farm animals.

Magalies farm stay at Thbametsi

The staff are friendly and welcoming. It is a beautiful place for a quiet getaway. The bungalow we stayed in was kitted out with everything we needed and the view from the pool is breathtaking. I will definitely stay there again.

Awesome getaway

Thabametsi is a real "plaas" (farm) escape that takes you back to basics with the joy of farm life. Two free roaming cows and a sheep set the mood, made only better by the stoep-sit joys of watching the sun set. Great facilities, friendly people, and most pleasant stay! (The bedding in particular was great – the softest pillows and linen)

Patio-gazing on the farm

The kids loved the farm - especially feeding the farm animals in the afternoons and playing with the "elves" (garden gnomes) under the trees. Lots of open spaces and different play areas to keep them busy. Our dachshund was in her element exploring the farm all weekend.

Quiet farm stay

What a wonderful surprise!  Well equipped cottage, comfy beds and fluffy towels.  Excellent hosts took care of all we needed.  So much to do for children and adults alike.  Interacting with and feeding the farm animals was definitely a daily highight!  We'll definitely see you again soon, can highly recommend Thabametsi Farm.
