I have been at Five Volcanoes twice this year and I have to say it has been great both times. Friendly staff, good food and a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and clean, and it is perfectly located for the Gorilla Trekking. Can recommend. 

Great base station for Gorilla Trekking! 

Best part of it: the food. This is probably the best dish I've eaten in Eastern Africa. Worst part of it: the rest. The wifi of the hotel is unbelievably weak and didn't work at all in my bedroom (and the room had a smart TV, which meant I had no internet and no TV). Complained about this since day 1, and they managed to fix it on my last day. 

I wish the WiFi was as good as the food

This was our first time in Rwanda and it was such a perfect place to stay. The room was clean, the staff was so friendly and thoughtful. The food was delicious. Everything about it was perfect. Everything you need for a stay in Volcanoes National Park while you are seeing Gorillas or doing another experience. Highly recommend doing Gorilla trek. 

Ideal Hotel for Volcanoes National Park

We were a group of four wildlife photographers taking a ten day tour of Rwanda. This hotel was the base for our Mountain Gorilla outing.

The rooms are good: Clean and fairly large. Nothing too fancy, but comfortable. Restaurant, food and service were quite good. Staff were excellent.

What made Five Volcanoes stand out was what took place after our gorilla trek. We were permitted to leave our bags in our rooms, and shower upon return. Also, staff removed our muddy boots and gaiters and washed them prior to returning them to us. This was a great service, as North American customs and immigration takes a very dim view of soil from other continents being brought back.

Excellent Base for Gorilla Treks

This was an amazing experience and an absolutely wonderful hotel.  The food was outstanding, and the entire staff were so very friendly, thoughtful and generous.  The rooms were incredibly spacious and elegant, and the whole vibe was one of comfort, caring and peace.  From the greetings, to the post trek foot massage, shoe cleaning, to the caring emotional B'Di's, all in all, this was a fantastic experience, for which we are so very grateful.  

The Best Oasis on Our Adventure With the Gorillas

We stayed here during our visit to Rwanda to see the Gorillas. This property is very well located for the intended purpose and is only 15 minutes from the gorilla's national park entrance. The pool, restaraunt area, and general grounds are very nice and feel safe. The rooms are large and clean, but the provide little sound protection and we could hear our neighbors and people in front of our room speaking with ease.

The food was phenomenal and offered a wide variety of types to choose from included in the room and board price. The staff are extremely accomodating and were the best part about our stay.

This is a very good choice for a hotel to use during your gorilla trecking adventures!

Great hotel for the Gorillas!

Amazing stay at the 5 V, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Helped us get to the park entrance because we did not know the way. Rooms are very spacious and confortable. I also enjoyed the nice swimming pool. We had a blast with the evening traditional dance and drums. 
Customer care is top notch there

Great stay close to Vulcanoes National park, amazing experience

Excellent stop off point to go and trek the gorillas.  The staff here make up the extra star of luxury.  Yes there are fancier places you can stay in Musanze, but you will not get treatment that is this great, and, you won't pay thousands for one night in a hotel.  

The property features a pool, and what could best be described as a guest house with multiple rooms.  Very quiet, in fact, really didn't know anyone else was on the property unless you ran into them during meals.  We had a triple room which was very large, big bathroom with plenty of amenities.  Water pressure was good and plenty of hot water.

To get to our room, we walked through a large dining room that looks like it might be possible to rent the entire house for a big family.  One night, as a special treat, they set up dinner for us, put a fire in the fire place, and it was simply magic.

The meals were all very good, great breakfast buffet with enough choices for everyone in the morning.  Night dinners offered three or four selections to choose from.  Food was always fast and fresh. 

I cannot say enough about the staff.  They were the friendliest and hardest working staff I have seen in a long time.  You could feel their pride in what they were doing and also in the stories they would tell us.  Jean D'Amore was great and went out of his way to make the stay magical.  

Families with kids would do well here with the pool, plenty of open space for the kids to run around (entire property is fenced/gated and very safe.  The meals are also child friendly.  There were two families here while we were here.

When we come back to trek the gorillas again, we will definitely be staying here.

If you are looking for a good tour company for your tours in Rwanda, also consider Amahoro Tour company.  Our guide Edmond was full of knowledge on the area, had lots of interesting details we otherwise would have missed, and just made the trip fun.  We were laughing the entire time with him.  He really made it an over the top experience.

If you want to spend as much for a hotel as buying a car, stay in one of the other properties.  If you want to be treated like family and get great meals, accommodations and be treated like royalty, definitely come here.  You won't be disappointed.
