Worst service and hospitality I ever encountered.
Arrived in the evening, key was left at the reception as there is limited (very limited) reception. Room was cold as ice as and no one to help, no one to fix the problem. After several messages and phone calls in the middle of the night finally someone endured picking up the phone. They almost didn’t believe me as they didn’t had complaints before. And after finally leveling with me that it is cold even with 2 sheets and the AC can only give cold air, they said they are sorry but they cannot help, especially that the heating works only until 10PM. Were promised a discount of this night, but at checkout was refused the discount and were thrown a ‘we’re sorry’.
3-4 other colleagues had the same issue, but did not complain (for one of them 14 degrees were cold, but bearable). When brought this to the attention of the staff they simply said they disagree and basically shut down the conversation.
The pictures show a nice hotel with big rooms, well, expect much smaller ones. This was one of the biggest ripoffs. Highly advise against staying here, especially during the cold season. The lack of hospitality, the lack of care towards the customers, the lack of availability and the lack of respect, not to mention the momentary lie (of a final discount of the first night) just to get rid of a complaint make this place one of the worst, while for unknown reasons being rated way too high.

The guest house is centrally located in Targu Mureş, 500 meters from the Palace of Culture and the medieval fortress.
The guest house offers a bar, free Wi-Fi, and all rooms are air conditioned.

Rooms at Villa Helvetia also have cable TV and a refrigerator. The private bathrooms come with a shower or a bathtub, free toiletries and a hairdryer on request.

Breakfast is very good vith a big variety of food.

This is my favorite place in Târgu Mureş, being the first option when I schedule delegations in the area.

Best place to stay in Targu Mures

Check-in was fine, I was advised of breakfast times, how to use the key fob for entry into the property and then I was shown to my room. On the way up I noticed the profusion of plants and many of them hanging over the stairwells, it gives the place a very homely feel. 

The room was light and airy and quite large, the white furniture enhanced the feeling of spaciousness. The bed was very comfortable, there was a large wardrobe with a good amount of storage space, the TV had 160 channels which was a bonus. There was also a fridge, efficient aircon and the wifi worked well. I liked the information booklet which saves asking the staff a load of questions. The bathroom was good with a powerful shower, sachets of shower gel and soap dispenser provided. 

Breakfast was an absolute treat with a self serve selection as well as cooked items brought to the table. The omelette was delicious, I also had a selection of items from the buffet. Villa Helvetica is a gem of place and I enjoyed my 2 night stay there, it is conveniently located in a quiet residential area and is less than a 10 minute walk from Piața Trandafirilor. I would definitely stay again. 

An excellent stay at Villa Helvetia

Stayed for five nights, nice little hotel breakfast was included in the price.  Staff are lovely very helpful.  Breakfast is plentiful eggs, and mainly continental style.  Room was ok bed was comfortable.  I would say good value for money.

Lovely Place 

The ‘pension’ as small hotels are called here was in a perfect location for the town centre. We have just come back after a 5 night stay at  Helvetia. The staff were so friendly. The breakfast choice was great. The room was spacious and clean. The only think I would have liked was a kettle in the room.  Other than that it was perfect. Would recommend this small character hotel to anyone. Great value for money.

Perfect location

We were visiting family and were thrilled to find this B&B right on their street. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and well-equipped. The breakfast was excellent and the service was very responsive. Will definitely stay again.

4 stars for a 2 star price

We decided to stay one night in Targu Mureș during our trip and picked this place because it looked very central. Indeed it was easy and a walk through nice streets to get either to citadel or main street. The staff was friendly, room was big and met our needs, we had some form of a view on the roofs of historical buildings. The place looks different altogether. The breakfast was ok, staff efficient. Price is relatively balanced according to what is offered. 

The place is a bit worn out, as a small detail our room needed some fresh air as we got in. The breakfast is diverse, but basic with very commercial products. I
