Recommended to eat in the restaurant of this large modern hotel by a local. We were prepared to be underwhelmed but no such thing: the traditional dishes we ordered were excellent. We started with mushrooms in sour cream sauce with polenta. Sour cream here is much milder than in the US and went perfectly with the wild mushrooms which were in season, we had seen lots of them offered for sale by the road when we drove over the Carpathians earlier. Then we had a variety of local sausages with a salad of lightly pickled peppers and tomatoes, fried potatoes, red cabbage and green beans. Everything was full of flavour and well cooked. For dessert we had papanasi, two very light fresh donuts filled with wild blueberry compote and served with sour cream. This is a classic Bukovina dish and impossible to improve! Friendly service and a great price:quality ratio. Bravo!
