Located in the bustling center of Pitesti, one would expect a hotel to offer comfort, convenience, and a warm welcome. However, my recent experience at La Storia was a stark reminder that appearances can be deceiving. Despite its promising location, this establishment proved to be a nightmarish ordeal from start to finish.

My decision to book a two-night stay via Booking.com quickly turned into regret upon arrival. The first red flag was the closed entrance and the lack of response from the interphone. After resorting to calling a number displayed on the gate, I was met with the rude and abrupt demeanor of what seemed to be the owner or manager.

Upon finally gaining entry, the so-called lobby greeted me with a disarray of furniture and an unmanned reception desk. It took a staggering 20 minutes for someone—presumably a receptionist or housekeeper—to appear. This delayed encounter only foreshadowed the lack of professionalism and care to come.

My inquiries about parking facilities, as advertised on the website, were met with indifference. I was informed that street parking was available at my own expense and risk. Furthermore, the revelation that there was no staff on duty during the night sent shivers down my spine. It became evident that this was not a place prioritizing the safety and well-being of its guests.

Entering the room only confirmed my worst suspicions. It was dirty, cluttered, and devoid of the basic comforts and amenities one expects from any hotel, guest house or hostal. The thought of spending the night in such conditions left me feeling deeply unsettled and unsafe.

Attempting to address my concerns with both the receptionist and the owner only resulted in dismissive responses. I was essentially told to accept the substandard conditions or incur penalties for early departure. The lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction were appalling.

Seeking recourse, I contacted Booking.com, where I made the initial reservation. While assured that I would not be charged, the promised refund from the hotel has yet to materialize. This only adds insult to injury, highlighting the establishment's blatant disregard for its guests' rights and well-being.
Of course I refused to spend 2 nights in the location trying to find a last minute and expensive alternative.

In conclusion, La Storia is a place to be avoided at all costs. Its filthy conditions, lack of customer service, rude staff, and overall disregard for guest safety paint a damning picture. It is evident that this establishment prioritizes goals other than hospitality, focused on renting rooms by hour, leaving a lasting impression of disappointment and dismay.

A  Nightmare in the Heart of Pitesti: Avoid at All Costs

The hotel is okish (some stuff needs improvement), but the service is very bad, they do not respect the price of the reservation and if you don't pay attention you might pay another price. Also, I got an angry call from the manager this morning because I left a negative review on booking.com (it was true). Very unprofession attitude towards feedback. I don't recommend this location.

great B & B very central , where speak English and Italian ,there is a good Wi-Fi,  the rooms are cozy and clean , it makes a good basic breakfast and Marcus owner is very personable and helpful . . I advise

Dormire bene a Pitesti

The location of the hotel is very good, 300 meters to the city center. I've stayed in a single room, it was ok, a big bed. The room was clean the bathroom also, the Wi-Fi is working great. The breakfast is basic but ok, the coffee is good. I've stayed only one night here so is perfect for short time.
