Brilliant location, 2 minutes walk to the square. Nice sized apartment, small but functional kitchen and bathroom. No lift., though. Very clean. A few small things wrong such as little storage space, bathroom floor slippy as drain a bit slow to drain, no shelf in shower. Fans linked to light in kitchen and bathroom should be separate. No carving knife in kitchen. However it was very quiet and would highly recommend.

The place is really central but far enough from the noise. 

The room was very modern with a comfortable bed.  I was lucky enough to get a room with a small kitchen which was great. 

The only issues, no wardrobe, blackout curtains would be better and no aircon. 

However, for the price you can’t go wrong. 

Modern room 

I was arrived to Poznan just for overnight between flights. I was arrived to the hotel at around 22:30 and departed at around 04:30 the location of the hotel is great just behind the main square. There is no markings or sign on the from of the building which makes hard mission to find out the entrance also there is now lift in this accommodation so take that in mind if you don’t wat to use stairs.

Room was pretty big size with small kitchen also the bed was very comfy.

Great for overnight stay

Positive things first:

- Great location in Pozna!
- Easy to check in and  check out.
- No fuss, no keys or keycards or signing in. Just a code. Top!

Now the rest: This can be summarised by one word "Half Job".

1. The Hotel gives really cuts costs and gives you the scanntest amount of curtain. I say "curtain" and not "curtains", because you only get HALF a curtain. It's just barely enough to cover the window. Outside the window is a blaring street lamp, so you can forget having a peaceful sleep in proper darkness.

2. The bathroom is very clean, I will give them that. But the shower is possibly stupidest design I have ever seen anywhere. Again: they give you HALF a door. So when showering water is guaranteed to get on the floor of the entire bathroom. Even if try to you shower "carefully". And what do you have to mop up this water? Again HALF a towel. They give you possibly the tiniest floor towel I have ever seen.

3. The internet (all 3 of the options) barely works, and actually only properly connects in like one corner of the room. So you can forgetting chilling out with Netflix.

4. But then, you think, I will try the telly … that has Netflix. Right? Well. The telly remote barely works, unless you stand right in front of the television itself and aim it at a particular angle.

5. Are you stuck? Have any questions to the management? Well no fear! Just go to the reception… oh, right, there is no reception. Well, you can always call them up, right? Sure… but no matter what you choose in their maze of options, you will NEVER get through to a human. Okay, so who needs human in the age of AI, right? I'll just talk to the Chatbot on the website. Ha! Wrong again. The Chatbot looks like it's been written by a junior developer who just recently learnt about while-loops in a coding bootcamp and thinks that this is an "AI" assistant. Fantastic job, Hotel. Fantastic job!

Summary:

This place really is fine, if you just care about location and cleanliness. But it is a right shame to see how much the cut corners. This place is fine… but it could be excellent like ones in Warsaw.

Please, owners of Aparthouse Woźna 11… do better! Don't do a half job ; )

Not Half bad: A tribute to a half-complete project

I’m going to try and be as fair as possible with my review after the way a complaint was handled whilst staying at this property. I’ll start from the beginning!

I saw the property on Hotels.com, my regular go to for accommodation whilst travelling. I loved the location and the pictures posted for the accommodation and was happy with the price. I booked to stay for two nights.

I received my email at bang on check in time the day of check in and found the property easily. The instructions to get my key were clear, simple and very easy to follow and I was inside in no time at all. The first impression is elegance and class. The lobby area, albeit it “personless”, is very nicely decorated and the communal hallways are delightful. Extremely well presented. The hotel is moments walk from the main market square of Poznań and very centrally located. This was really useful to me being a tourist.

I was given a room on the second floor, room 203. The room in all honesty was somewhat underwhelming, given the pictures that are shown online, they’re clearly very professionally done. I was expecting more of an apartment style place, though it was just a bog standard hotel room. Nevertheless it was clean and bright. The bathroom was very small, but again clean and functional. Toiletries and towels were provided as were a hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities.

I left my belongings and headed out for the afternoon to explore. After a long and cold afternoon out and about I decided to come back to the hotel earlier and have a restful evening. The rooms are fitted with great smart TV’s and excellent Wi-Fi, so I was able to access my Netflix account and enjoy something on the TV. This was sadly where the enjoyment stopped.

Whilst I appreciate my main concern was no fault of the hotels, the way in which it was dealt with was less than satisfactory. You should be aware that this is a very old building that has been converted and as such the walls between the hotel rooms are paper thin. I don’t just mean thin, I mean I could hear every single word of the conversation being had next door as well as the multiple orgasms that the lady in the room appeared to be having all evening!

I messaged the number provided at around 10pm to ask if an alternative room was available. I received a prompt reply explaining that no rooms were available (though they were available to book online which I found strange). The person who replied advised they would contact the people in the next room and ask for them to be quieter. I was happy enough with that and dozed off around 11:30pm. At 2am, the couple making the noise returned banging doors and shouting. Almost like they were defying the request to be a little quieter. The corridors in this place echo the slightest noise and again I was awake. They continued shouting and having sex (I guess they were at least having a good time) until around 5am.

The aforementioned noise, mixed with cheap pillows, a badly sprung mattress and two of the tiniest single duvets I’ve ever seen resulted in a night of no sleep and a ruined day the next day due to being so tired from the night before - though I dare say not nearly as tired as she must have been!

I messaged the hotel staff again the next morning to enquire as to whether another room had became available so that I could be relocated to another part of the hotel. The hotel replied by text message asking for money to change rooms. This very thing is the reason that I’m sadly not able to recommend this hotel to anybody reading this review.  I appreciate fully that not all rooms can be soundproofed and again, the noise of other guests is not the fault of the property, but as a paying guest, I have the right to good customer service and a room change request is one of the most common and simplest requests in the hotel business. It’s also one of the easiest ways to promote good service recovery. To be asked to pay is completely unacceptable and disgraceful service. 

Be under no illusion, this is a budget hotel, albeit “higher end” budget, but customer service should always be a part of the product, it’s your guests that keep your business alive! I note from other guests reviews that customer service levels at this property are way below standard and instead of trying to find any given opportunity to extort money from your guests, which is clearly what you were trying to do in this situation, I urge you to show some compassion and understanding to people that choose to stay with you and contribute to the success of your establishment.  It isn’t my concern as a guest that your staff will need to clean the room. It’s their job and part of being a hotelier. It certainly is your concern however, that your guests are looked after and comfortable whilst they’re staying with you and that you at least try to problem solve when things go wrong. That’s the commitment you make when deciding to run a hotel. Please do not treat people like they are an inconvenience to you, there are many other places available for people to stay.

The hotel messaged back when I questioned the extra money that they asked for to change rooms and told me that as I didn’t message again at 4am, they weren’t aware that there were any further problems and that the people who had been noisy had now checked out, so there was no longer a problem. Respectfully, I’d been awake most of the night and really didn’t fancy a conversation by text message at 4 in the morning.

My stay at this venue was ruined by noise. If it’s a quiet place that you are looking to stay at, (which is all I wanted) this most definitely isn’t for you. It’s one of the noisiest places I’ve stayed at and sadly it took away the enjoyment of my trip to Poznań.

I choose this accommodation in good faith and paid the money that they asked for. Once they had my money, it ended there. I was not important to them, nor was my custom. I will not return on my next visit to Poznań, nor would I recommend this accommodation to anyone else visiting. 

I’d like to make it clear at this point, that it wasn’t the quality of the accommodation that has lead me to leave a negative review.  On the contrary, there’s nothing more that I love than leaving a nice positive review having stayed at a new hotel on my travels. I’m very much for supporting travel and tourism, given what the world has recently been through. That should have taught you how valuable your guests are, but clearly not on this occasion. The room was perfectly adequate. Nice and warm, clean and reasonably priced. It’s your apathetic approach to dealing with the simplest of issues, which in my opinion makes for an unpleasant stay. 

By far the worst customer service in years. I work in the travel industry and stay on average 15 nights per month in various hotels around the world, but this the first time I’ve been made to feel silly and unwelcome. A total disappointment.

To end on a positive, I hoped for the best on my second night and fortunately, I believe the room next door was vacant, luckily for me. I managed to rest suitably.

Average hotel, let down by non existent service.

We booked to rooms for 1 night. It’s very central, 2 min.walk to the Stary Rynek. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and even you can watch Netflix on tv. But is one big minus and is the very unfriendly, uninterested and some hostile staff, who makes the stay a little bit scary at times. It’s a pity for a place with so many possibilities dued  to the superb location.

Our apartment is very adequate in size and the bed is comfy. Nothing great about it but it’s functional and clean. We have a room at the front of the hotel and have had to sleep with the window closed, which in a small room is never nice but I have been able to open it early this morning, once the Saturday night revellers had departed the old town. However, there are signs in the hotel rooms asking these revellers to be quiet, on their return, during the early hours and the other guests on our floor were far from it. We were both woken a few times in the night with people in the corridor having long, convoluted conversations in various languages, in a loud, drunken drawl that would have woken the dead. Maybe signs on the staircase and in the corridors could improve this. One other thing that takes this place from 4 stars down to 3. The guy on reception was gruff and moody. The charm school failed him.

Other Guests

Check in was difficult. No free parking. Faulty plumbing. Nasty manager. Restaurant not open. Terrible room deodorizer smell. 
No lift.  Just be aware it is inexpensive and close to Old Town but anyone with mobility issues should not book!! Old Town square is completely under repair. Wait a while until it is finished. It will be wonderful eventually.

Don't go

1. No kitchen available to guests 
2. No luggage storage facility. It looks as though every square inch of usable space was made into a bedroom. Convenience facilities are non-existent.
3. Although card details are taken for the deposit amounts, it is not made clear that the deposit is taken a few days before arrival and not at the point of booking. In my case I booked in January or so and by July had a new card so the deposit didn't go through and I risked the booking being cancelled.
4. Lack of customer service skills. Emails answered insufficiently with no guidance for available options. Change of room? Yeah, got such and such but who cares cares about actually quoting a price.
5.When I queried my second booking before return flight (just in case, so I could avoid getting the "bounced deposit payment") I was told not to worry as they now had my new card details. Lo and behold, booking cancelled. I contacted them immediately and was told that my room was no longer available. Funny that, that looked like a double booking to me.
6. Reception service is only available 8.30-4.30. Need assistance outwith these hours? Good luck.

I doubt I'll be staying here again.
