This place is absolutely terrific. I've stayed there several times, over a spread of about 12 years and have watched it become better and better. This is where you go if you want the exact opposite of Alona Beach, which is only 4 miles away but a thousand miles from the ambience of the Dumaluan - and that's the way I like it.

consider themselves the exclusive owner of the island’s coastline and have the right to block access to it!  It’s scary to imagine what little things they rip off guests for.

terrible hotel

Staff was not very accommodating. I always feel like I am bothering them whenever I ask for something. 
I asked to schedule a massage for the evening and was told that it was scheduled. No one came. Turns out, they never informed the masseuse. No one apologized for the incident.  They just pointed fingers at their fellow staff, but no one dared to apologize to me for their mistake.
Room TV does not work. If you want to watch TV before you sleep, bring your mobile phone or tablet.
Wifi was extremely slow.
I requested a beach towel. I was told that they would bring it to me at the beach. No one did. Again, no one apologized for that instance. 
No hot water shower. Not stated on room details when I booked it that there was no hot water in the room.
Food was not worth the price.
In-house transpo arrangement was too expensive. 
They don't  always clean their side of the shore/beach. There's  a lot of seaweeds and sea grass all over. Neighboring resorts are cleaner. 
I heard some other resorts are not just cleaner but also cheaper. It's more worthy.

Waste of Money

(1) Unreasonable Policy. We bought a jollibee meal for my 1 yr old. We were asked to pay corkage. My husband was willing to pay. When he asked how much, the guy said “Php 500”. But when my husband handed him the money- he said, “Php 500 per food type!” Would have been an ok policy if the restaurant was “ok”. And gave more options. (2) Breakfast terrible - for the two breakfast we had, they only served the same thing , Ham, Eggs, pancit and fruits. No variety. (3) No parking, if bringing a car- you are forced to park on the side on the entrance, which would have been ok if there are ample slots. (4) Service Employee not professionals: One morning after breakfast- a bunch of ladies who were cleaning had loud voices, calling each other from the other room because “one” lady found something. They laughed and giggled. 

Only giving two stars because of their beach from. Other than that would give a 1. 

You might want to a reconsider if you want to stay here 

Ww paid 18k+ for our acxommodation on this resort and yet the room that we stayed at is HORRIBLE!! 
1. The toilet bowl is BARADO. Everytime we used it to poop we have to call their housekeeping to declogged it. We cannot even fit in on their toilet bowl since we can only lift the cover half way. That’s why to our dismay I asked them to just remove the cover.
2. During our breakfast, we ordered extra garlic rice but the waiter told us that they cannot grant us our order because the cook was too busy to prepare for it. We can understand if they told us that it is not available but instead even their supervisor even said that the cook can’t make it.

The management should check their room all the time! Will definitely not to book again on this resort.

Marlou resort   nightmare   

The view is nice,but my room assign is danger for elderly.Floor  is loose & slippery.

I booked 1 room for 1 night stay here thru Expedia but we were not able to use the room. When my brother asked the staff if there was a reservation under my family name, the info staff said there was no room booked for us so we went to dumaluan beach resort 1 & there they found my name (but it was for the cottage though) We stayed in DBR 1 although the room we booked was in DBR 2 so I just paid double ryt? hehe. I tried to seek help from the apo's & they were so kind (Biboy & 1 lady) but it wasn't resolved. Piece of advise: Make sure which resort you booked. ( Pls ask several times since the info staff in DBR said there was no room under my name). Note: DBR 1 does not have online booking, they do bookings thur call & fb while DBR 2 does have online booking.

Yes, you read it right, imagine we paid for almost 20k coz we availed their package with tour and we ended up being so disappointed with a lot of things pagdating palang namin. 
1. Front office did not inform us that our room were already available as she said that they will just contact us since we arrived early for their check in, we need to check and go back to the front desk to ask. No complimentary drinks whatsoever.
2. Special treatment to foreign guests and no warm welcome to locals. Imagine already two waiters passed by and no one ever offered us anything while waiting, my partner and I both came from the hotel industry and it is an sop to atleast ask or offer menu to customers since we sat at the resto while waiting for our room to be ready and no one from those waiters who were just standing by offered anything, we came around 1pm and only a few were at the resto that time
3. Our room was dilapidated and we were stressed out finding that our door lock is broken. We got locked from the inside so we came out by the window to ask for help, luckily the window was open, what if its not?! The first hk we asked help for said that she'll look for some help to fix the door and then we later found out that she did not do any, we found her chitchating while we decided to just go by our own to the front desk since there's no telephone inside our room to report the problem. I heard the guy who fixed the door that the room should be put on hold since its really broken and needs to be repaired, but no, the front desk refused to transfer us to another room
4 Room lacks basic amenities such as telephone, shower heater and bidet
5 Poor and slow customer service especially at their resto, foods will be served cold after waiting for 30 mins so you better order everything at one go, servers were not that attentive, my partner even joke that "kanina pa ako nalunod dito kakakaway" (ive already drowned yet no one approaches us,maybe after 15min 
6 Overpriced menu and far to none from convenient stores/other restaurant options 
7 Overall poor staff management

Pros
1 Beautiful and family friendly shore, its even better than alona, water is not that deep plus it has powdery white sand comparable to boracay
2 Breakfast buffet is included in the package 
3 Some staffs were nice especially kuya Max, our driver for the tour 
4 Pretty garden, the plants are well maintained just 
not the rooms hehe
5 Close to large private hotels so the beach is not that crowded compared to alona

Not worth the money we paid for

Good hotel, good service, helpful staff, cozy area, nice beach. A good hotel in this price range.
