Fantastic
16 reviewsI have stayed in 3 different hostels in Puno and this one was my favourite. Me, my boyfriend and friend stayed here for 2 nights with 2 motorbikes. The hostel owner Toto was a very friendly man and his son speaks good English, we had a double room with private bathroom and access to the kitchen. The rooms were clean and well kept, the shower was powerful and hot (almost too hot) there was soap and toilet paper in the bathroom. The kitchen is small but lovely if you are cooking in there alone, which we did one night. It's not a big hostel so this is achievable. Breakfast was included with the usual of bread and jam but also mango juice and no rationing on the jam. There is a garage that can fit 2 bikes in with room to work on them, which Toto was more than happy to let us do. Toto and his son helped us out a great deal as we (British) bought our motorbike in Peru. We had problems taking the bike across the border due to a law stating that only Peruvian citizens were allowed to take Peruvian bikes across the border. Toto and his son were more than willing to help us and travelled to the Copacobana border to sign our bikes over the border. Obviously it cost us a bit extra but they helped translate and now they have done it once, I would advise you to head to them if you need help doing this. However even without this generous help, the hostel is still the best in Puno.
