Host very friendly and pleasant. Felt it was very overpriced for a very small room and shared bathroom with other guest.clean and tidy. Were expecting breakfast as that was advertised. We were not allowed to use the cook top or oven so not sure why the oven was there . More suited for backpackers.

The property is not conveniently located - but the host will offer to drive you where you need to go (within reason). Best of all, she will help arrange activities and restaurant reservations, Toilet and bath is shared amongst the occupants of 3 rooms.  All tools you can ever need are available in the kitchen. There is a comfortable living room, and terrace, Wifi is good.

Warm and helpful host. Clean property.

The place is clean, but way over priced for a tiny room in an overcrowded bungalow.  The bed we had was two singles pushed together, which is never overly comfortable. The host started out being warm and overtly friendly, but Wendy then began a sentence with "I am not being racist but.....'.  We were told a story about 'an Asian family' that stayed and used the kitchen and that is the reason why no guest is allowed to cook,  and another story about the Samoan workers who live out of town because ..."the locals don't want them living next door and digging pits to cook their food and the smell wafting over the fence". Unbelievable ignorance.  I read between the lines and thought it would be okay to stay here but please pay attention to the negative reviews, they are all correct. We also caught Wendy in our room (she left her keys on the side table in our room & more annoyingly left our door wide open!!!), we had already swapped towels and we had said our bed didn't need changing so there was 100% no need for her to go into our room, no reason at all! But we did get a glowing report that we had left the room very clean & tidy... very patronising.  We have been travelling for over three years and this is the most uncomfortable we have felt anywhere, Wendy is constantly on your heels and she is so set her ways that you can't feel relaxed with her. Even more annoyingly we also had to stay an extra night and pay her in cash because our motorbike broke down... believe me I would done anything to leave at this point. Do yourself a favour move on and stay in a proper hotel not this glam backpackers with three tiny rooms, shared bathroom & remember you are not allowed to use the cooker because of that naughty 'Asian family'......

Would have given 3 stars, but for the price, it was a big disappointment. This small house was clean enough, and the host friendly, but you need to understand that the bedrooms are small and that you will be sharing the small cottage with up to four other guests, including sharing one small bathroom, with a shower that is light on hot water.

A major disappointment that the stove top and oven are it of action, so you can’t cook in the kitchen. The fireplace and fire pit also out of action. 

Also note that payments are in cash, no credit card facilities. 

 If you like your individual space and freedom, and not having to be super quiet to cater for other guests, or if you seek to be able to cook or sit by a fireplace, then this place is not for you. 



Disappointing

Stayed for a couple of nights, beautifully restored old Villa type of house in the middle of Blenheim, probably 10 minutes walk from the center, absolutely spotless clean, comfy beds, only one bathroom for all guest however. Kitchen well equiped but not all appliances available for guest. Great hosts, lovely person with a huge knowledge about the local wine industry. Felt extremely welcome, will stay again if on Blenheim.

Best place to stay in Blenheim ?

well depends on your home but this is an absolutely amazing place, Wendy the owner is a very welcoming, friendly and interesting person, having been involved in the wine industry she s got a couple of good memories to tell. VERY ! clean place, centrally located, lots of parking in front of the house, quiet neighbourhood, good quality interior, very comfy beds, complete kitchen but sharing bathroom. Great for family, will call in again when in Blenheim.
