Appartement Stokroos

The Door & Roos was among the best B&Bs that we have ever stayed in (and we have travelled a lot). The location (Eastern Netherlands near the German border) is rather remote and requires a car, but it is well worth the trip. Harry and Karin are gracious hosts. The room we stayed in was spacious and the bed (king!) very comfortable. The bathroom is modern and well-lighted with large and plentiful towels! There is coffee, tea and chocolate for making in the room. You are given a free drink when you arrive, and if you eat at the local restaurant (which is also excellent), you receive a "surprise" champagne drink compliments of the Door en Roos. The breakfast is amazing. The table is set just before you arrive, and warm bread and a hot boiled egg awaits, along with a beautiful display of cheese, meat, yogurt, fresh oranges and fresh, delicious tomatoes. Harry will make as many capuccinos as you want to drink! The breakfast is served in the little coffee shop that is run by Harry and Karin. It is a small, tastefully decorated room that makes the whole experience a delight. The surroundings of the B&B are also very welcoming. For cold or wet days, there is a charming covered area with comfy sofas and a fireplace. All in all, it is simply enchanting. We would have stayed longer had we known in advance how lovely it would be. I recommend Door& Roos to anyone who likes being in the country and cycling.
