I stayed for 4 nights in fortune hotel and It was really good experience. The staff is very kind, breakfast is delicious, clean bathroom and of course you will save money because of it's the cheapest hotel in Mandalay

Great hotel

My second time in Mandalay with the same hotel and this time I MUST write a review, good credit when its due and not just negative review. Lets start with location; Very close to the city and good local food shops around. 
Room; Good size rooms with comfortable beds.
Staff; being a family run business, it really show the unity and understanding what great customer service looks like. Nothing is never too much for the staff, very friendly and approachable. Able to meet my outrages demand such as dry cleaning my clothes on the same day since I wanted to wear particular clothing which needed a careful wash.Will definitely will be staying again and same goes for the 10 friends that I was with.

Great location, fantastic people and easy access to the city

Our mini bus from Inle Lake included free drop off so booked this hotel for 1 night as it was cheap & we could get dropped off outside the hotel so no walking about with our backpacks.

The room was clean & a good size (had much smaller in Yangon for more money & the same standard) though a little dated but also had good A/C but very poor WIFI compared to our other hotel we move to the following day. 

Shared facility's we found to be clean but dated but again you get what you pay for & were never busy as found each floor shared the same facility's but only 5 rooms to each floor. 

What we got for breakfast was a great surprise as only expected toast for the price we paid but had lots of choice but don't expect any kind of service or conversation with the staff serving breakfast you just get given a tick list & you choices follow. 

Overall we were happy with our 1 night stay, don't normally book shared facility's but again found them ok and could have maybe managed 2 nights max.

A good base in the city for a very cheap price with breakfast included! 

Clean & Cheap

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel as it was one of the cheapest in Mandalay. The staff in this hotel was friendly and the location was also ok but unfortunately I discovered bedbugs after the 2nd night. I felt very uncomfortable and itchy during the last night stay there.
Breakfast was nice in the morning and the staff helped us to book onwards travel to Inle Lake.
Not sure if I can recommend staying there. 

Friendly staff 

Upon arrival, we were greeted by rude staffs and the manager was also very mean towards his own staff.

The staffs and boss in the hotel were rude and also not very nice. The service was also quite bad.
The attitude of the boss of the place should reflect why the prices of this place is so Low. Minimal privacy and it is a shared toilet where u can hear other people along the corridor quite loudly. 

They also gave attitude when we wanted to pay in USD and gave us small bills of 1000 kyat for a change of USD 100 dollars, sort of trying to make life difficult for us. Highly not recommended unless you want to deal with the nonsense from the staffs. Most unpleasant hotel experience throughout my years of travelling.
