Ahmed and Azdine along with Musa, are the most charming , friendliest hosts you could wish to meet and leave you feeling so welcome in their artistic Berber home , furnished with fabulous fabrics and their own art. The views are to die for.

The Kasbah is one of the best places I’ve stayed at in my life. We came for one night and ended up staying for 3.

The hosts, Ahmed & Azdin, are the most caring people we’ve met in Morocco (and that says a lot, the bar is very high!). The place is magical, like a fantastical, mythical castle full of embroidered carpets, a beautiful ceiling, paintings drawn by Azdin, and colourful curtains.

It fits naturally in the landscape and overlooks the green oasis that makes its way down the red mountains. We visited caves, gardens, kasbahs and even slept in a remote village only a hike away from here.

Berber Castle 1001 Nights

Heaven in the middle of a valley. Inteded to stay for a night, stayed for three since the place is an experience on its own. Hosted by two gentlemans, the service of this places is by far the best I have ever experienced. Everything you could ask for will be fulfiled in a loving and caring manner. Dinners and breakfasts are on point, and the view from the Kasbah is mesmerizing. Rooms are cozy and it always felt like a place to return to after a long day discovering the area. Nothing bad to say about the place!

Beyond any expectations

In short: The best holiday accomodation I’ve ever had! We initially planned to stay for only one night, but after the first evening we decided to stay longer and ended up staying for three nights. Our hosts are the most kind people you could imagine: They gave us great tips on what to do in the surroundings, invited us for tea all the time and accommodated all our dietary needs (one time celiac disease (no gluten at all), two vegetarians). The food is absolutely delicious and plentiful, for just a few euros we got soup/salad, tajine, rice, couscous, bread, vegetables and fruit for dinner, and pancakes, omelett, fruit, bread, rice, jam, butter, honey, tea and coffee for breakfast and we always got refills. Once they even made us lunch even though that’s usually not offered because we were hungry and had a long drive ahead of us. From our balcony we had an incredible view on nature, a picturesque village and the mountains. There is a lot to do in the area, such as visiting caves from which you have a very nice view and visiting a neighboring village in which parts of the movie Gladiator were shot. Moreover, the accomodation is amazingly calm and filled with art. I have rarely felt that much at ease when traveling. 100% coming back when visiting Morocco again.

Best accomodation I’ve ever had!!

The most hospitable host I have ever met. 
We booked a room through booking.com, it turned out that there were several rooms available and we were offered to choose which one we wanted to stay in. 
A very dense dinner: vegetarian soup and tangine (beef with vegetables), fresh juice, tea, warm bread.  
Breakfast is wonderful: butter, scones, fresh juice, cheese, honey and jam, tea, milk, all natural from the surrounding villages.

The best hospitality

the most special and nice hostel that I have been to. the brothers are super nice, food is super good. everything is perfect. I will go back one day. people there are all kind and nice. I would like to recommend to everyone. they will offer a lot of help to you.

amazing trip

Having a trip with my family through Morocco. After 2 days in Marrakech we went to kasbah du peintre, near Aït Benhaddou. Where Aït Benhaddou is crowded with tourist, 5 minutes later arriving at the Kasbah it was located in a traditional village. The owners are very friendly. Before unpacking the tea is served. One of the brothers is a Painter and the kasbah is filled with his paintings. The atmosphere is very nice. The food is good. Eating at the kasbah is recommended. The family cooks ver tasty tradional Morrocon meals. Also vegetarian friendly!
The rooms are colourful. Outside the view from our balcony is amazing. Great place to stay to visit Ouarzarzate and Aït Benhaddou, only 15 minutes drive.
When I go back to Marroco in this region I definitely go back to this place. 

Away from the crowd

The guest house is along a dirt road off the main road accessible only by foot.  The area is a bit off the city centre and contains some dilapidated houses.  Our driver was about to drop us off and return to the down centre to look for accommodation partly because he is concerned it is not safe to leave the company van by the side of the road overnight.  I insisted that he come with me to have a look at the guest house first and if it is not suitable, take us to look for another guest house. But was I ever surprised.  Like many of the Morocco houses with very unremarkable exterior, the inside was beautifully decorated and maintained.  We have a comfortable room with a little bit of balcony. The owner Ahmed Bendra and his little boy Abraham were warm and welcoming.  So was his brother Azdine who is a painter.  They not only welcome us they also offer free room and food for our driver.  To alleviate his concern about the van, they let him park in one of the two garages they have across the road.  They move around some paintings to make room for the van.  Ahmed’s wife cooked us a wonderful home cook dinner. By that time, my wife and I were 8 days into the tour and found most of the Moroccan food a bit too salty to our taste. Her cooking totally restored our faith. The amount salt and spice was just perfect. Even our driver who is from Fez admitted that it is one of the best meal he had.  Ahmed also introduced us to his 9 month old son Suleman, a strong happy little baby. I am so glad we found this little gem.

An amazing place where you can find a truly morrocan house full of colors. Ahmed and his brother makes you feel like is your home. The attention is marvelous and the food is delicious. A place to disconnect of the world! 100% recommended

Wonderful

We had a really authentic experience at Kasbah du Peintre. Our hosts were super warm and served us the best meat we had in Morocco. We were always met with smiles and the requests from our toddlers were always met. We had a comfortable room separated from the other guests which enabled our kids to be as noisy as they wanted to be. It’s too bad we had to leave early as we missed our chance to paint with le paintre de ma maison.
