Our quadruple room was $100.  Good AC.  Perfectly adequate beds.  Steep narrow stairs.  Wonderful terrace!!  Great panoramic view of Fez.  Good location - right outside the medina.   Good breakfast.   
ISHAM (not sure of spelling) was a young man who checked us in and served us breakfast today.  Very friendly and outgoing.   He went above and beyond today for us -- the King of Morocco was visiting Fez today, which meant some of the streets were closed.  Which meant that taxis could not get to anywhere near this Riad.   He was off work, sitting at a cafe with a friend, when he saw us walking back to the riad -- he realized the problem, he went to the riad with us, helped us carry our bag about 1 mile to the outer city gate where the barricade started, and helped us get a car to get to the train station.  Thank you Isham!!  

Good for the price, and a wonderful staff!

This place is the last Riad we stayed at throughout our long road-trip. It was kind of hard to find at first, because our first hotel in Rabat was located just on the main road, while for Riad Aicha, you will need to park the car and walk for about 300 m into the medina of Sale. Anyway, the parking guardian was kind of helpful, without him, we might not going to find the place. Once we're in, Francoise greeted us and showed us our rooms. We fell in love instantaneously!
The door didn't say anything but once you're inside the Riad-it's a pearl! It has a lovely courtyard, and the rooms are nice, spacious, tastefully decorated, with high ceiling, and each with its own ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was amazing, the shower was really powerful and there is a separator between the shower and toilet, all decorated in Moroccan mozaic.
In the morning, Francoise provided us with amazing coffee and breakfast, and told us where to go and how to get there. We would love to come back!

Pearl!

We throughly enjoyed Riad Aicha as well as appreciated its location in a 100% non-touristic medina. The riad, besides being a delightful place to stay, is located just an easy 5--7 min walk from useful facilities just outside the walled medina--a new and good restaurant/patisserie, the Salé Ville train station and the modern tram to Rabat etc--all practically across the street from the entrance to the medina. Françoise met us at the school near Riad Aicha and settled us in. She soon left to spend xmas in Fr., but co-owner Khalid came to manage the riad in her absence. As a Moroccan, he was a wealth of information about the area as well as customs and local culture in general. (BTW, he owns a very nice, small, quiet, modern bar a couple blocks from the cathedral in Rabat.) Besides the friendly owners, we found the riad clean and cozy, with the 3 level rooftop deck an inviting area for snacking, taking the sun, doing yoga or just hanging out, weather permitting. Even though we were there mid-winter, the small heater in our upstairs room was sufficient as we were dressed warmly. The downstairs TV-lounging room has a larger gas heater that kept it toasty, but I often hung out at the communal table in the open ground floor patio near the WiFi modem, even in winter evenings--it doesn't get very cold in Salé. We found the neighborhood friendly and the residents of the medina welcoming. With its low-key environment and easy and inexpensive transport connections to Rabat as well as elsewhere in Morocco, we would certainly recommend Raid Aicha to our friends, and of course, we would stay here again. Be advised that the train station is Gare Salé Ville, not Gare Sale Tabriquet, as noted on Google Maps (as of Dec. '15)!!

Experience riad life in a totally non-touristic medina--easy 7 minute walk to train station and modern tram stop

Even though the hotel is near from Sale Railway Station, and we had it marked on google maps, it’s extremely hard to find (and I’m writing this after having slept in four different riads situated in four different Moroccan medinas), simply the riad door isn’t marked by any plate or sign, it’s just one of many doors in a medina alley, so you have to lose time wandering around and asking locals, most of whom don’t know this place (it’s a shame, because if only a small sign had been put things for hundreds of travellers would be much easier). Once found the riad door and crossed the threshold we got mixed impressions: the riad inside is nice, but the owner, French woman, is a bit strange. She seems a bit lost and treats guests as children, explaining even simplest things (eg. how to lock the door). We got a room with a bathroom, at the ground floor, accessed directly from the inner yard, with windows overlooking the yard. The room was clean and would be perfectly ok if the bathroom had some door or curtian – there wasn’t anything so lying in bad you could see the other person taking seat on the toilet. As in case of other similar riads, rooms with windows overlooking the inner yard have generally poor sound isolation, so in the night we could perfectly hear the television in the other room and conversation in the yard. The next day we were informed, that due to a booking error (?) the checkout time is two hours earlier than the time given in internet booking, and even though the owner finally agreed for the later checkout I found this very unprofessional. As the moment of the payment came the price displayed in internet booking in euros was converted into dirhams according to higher sell rate (and not buy rate) which in Morocco is a common but very annoying practice. The price which was few euros higher according to Moroccan average didn’t include any breakfast (which is a standard in other riads), so I rate this as the other downside of Riad Aicha. To sum up: the riad provides basic services, but with those downsides listed above, and peripheral location (it’s not Rabat but Sale) I found it not worth the money we paid.

Mixed feelings

Accidentally booked this thinking it was in Rabat, but it is actually in Sale. The tram system makes it easy to get to and from Rabat and the main train station. Great basic rooms for the price but do be aware there really isn't anything in the area.
