when you are in the “Middle of Nowhere?” Surrounded by the Sahara Desert sand dunes you should appreciate this oasis. Maybe the room lights are dim. Maybe the internet is weak or non-existent. Maybe the breakfast is not 5-star. Maybe the water will quit working. But the staff works hard to take care of your every request. Very spacious rooms have air conditioning 😇 The two swimming pools are inviting. It’s a place where you can camel ride. What more do you want?

What should you expect?

Our desert stay at Kasbah Des Dunes and the the Camp was one of our highlights of the whole Marocco tour. The hotel was super pretty, cozy and our host Jousef was super nice and prepared the best food we ever had :) 
I would like to give him 10 stars but there are only 5 possible.
Also the desert tour with the camels and the overnight camp stay were absolutely worse it. Our guide was super nice and the camp was silent and cozy. We were the only tourists at the camp these day and had beautiful moments of nature silence as well as some music at the campfire with berber music and drums. 
I can really recommend  it. :)

Highlight of our Marocco tour

We were welcomed with tea and nuts, showed the room and it's facilities. Everything went well, we were given blankets for the cold nights. The breakfast is also filling and the staff helpful with touristic attractions and restaurants.

Exactly as advertised!

We traveled to Hassi Labied in the very short low season between Christmas and spring and landed almost by chance in Kasbah des Dunes. We were the only couple hosted in the whole kasbah at that point. We were looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay as our trip was more on the backpacking side, and we would have never guessed we could find such a lovely place that fit in our budget.
Our room was tiny, rustic and colorful with its own bathroom. We ordered breakfast every morning on the roof of the kasbah in front of a magnificent view of the orange dunes and the blue sky, which quickly became our favourite part of the stay. Our stay was four nights long, enough to explore all Hassi Labied and neighboring attraction (dunes, seasonal lake and walking to Merzouga proper). When organising ourselves in the morning, we could always count on Youssef's help. He pointed us towards adventure and always gave his best advice. Youssef is probably the best part of this Kasbah and one of the most helpful, cheerful and hospitable hosts we've ever met. It's safe to say his charm made the difference for us in this lovely, empty kasbah in the desert.

No problem, welcome home!

We stayed in the kasbah 3 days and we would have stayed many more!
The place is simple but nice, comfortable and clean. The location is great, just beside palm trees and the desert. The view of the dunes during sunset from the terrace is priceless.
The food is very good and homemade. With the added value of variation ( beyond couscous and tagine!).
And last but not least, Youssef the owner is such a great guy. Helpful, fun, friendly, a pleasure to know him.
We'll come back for sure!

Espectacular. The best place to visit the desert.

Location: in the village of Hassilabiad, on the main village square, in front of bus station
Food: excellent!!! We ate there breakfast and lunch; were were 100% satisfied - the best vegetarian couscous in Morocco
Accommodation: comfortable and clean
Excursion: camel ride and overnight in tent - 100% recommended
The owner Youssef was our the best host in Morocco.

The site let us hope for a Kasbah where we could relax. Home ghost, very dirty room, forced to ask that the bathroom be cleaned, shower full of hair, filthy and clogged, bed sheets dirty and not changed, very mediocre meal

We had a wonderfull time! All the staff was sweet and helpfull. I Hope to come back and I will recomend this stay to averyone wanting to go on a adventure in the dessert. They Will Help you with the trips around the dunes and whatever you need
But be carefull, in the end you don't wanna leave ☀

Thank you for everything

My partner and I were originally going to spend 2 nights here but enjoyed it so much that we booked a third night. Our bus arrived at 5:30am and Youssef, the incredibly hospitable owner, met us and let us use the room immediately. 
Location couldn't be better - It's a 5 minute walk to the dunes, during which you walk through an oasis. You can admire the dunes while sitting on the terrace eating the huge breakfast provided each morning. Also highly recommend the overnight desert trip organised by Youssef, probably the highlight of my stay in Morocco so far. 
Also, do yourself a favour and have dinner here, he's an awesome cook and provides enough food to feed a small army for a very good price...just make sure you're hungry! Would love to go back one day with my family.
Only (very slight) negative is the internet can be a bit slow when there are too many people using it in the middle of the day.
Do yourself a favour and stay here.
