very nice riad. good located and relative easy to find (important in the medina). nice and big terrace. very quiet, absolutely no disturbing noises. Josephine (she is managing the booking) is a very caring busuness woman. Simo is always helpful and nearly 24h available.
What I dont like. There where no room service and the paper bin in the bath (travellers know the problem with waste water tubes in countries like marocco) there not emptied during our stay.

lovely place, good located

Suzanne and Mohammed are just amazing, ready to accommodate every need and to go the extra mile. The riad is well positioned in the medina with many good restaurants at a step away.

Tbe Dar is a short distance from the blue gate and offers guests the comfort and relaxtion of their own home away from tbe noise and bustle of the medina.  
The dar is unattended except at breakfast time but the man in charge Simo wants to make sure you enjoy your time in his city and is always available to help.  His organisation of a visit to the public haman was a highlight. 
We had a few problems with this dar that weren't addressed during our stay.  The AC in our room wasnt working and with high humidity and temps in Fez made sleeping difficult. The dars roof vent had been covered because of rain the previous week making the building very warm.  
Our room lock wouldn't work and we were unable to secure our belongings.  Luckily we had a lovely family sharing tbe Dar with us and could trust them. The external gate was also temperamental and other  guests had difficulty in locking this.
Our bathroom tap kept dripping and making the floor wet. We were told to turn the tap off tighter but this wasnt possible and required fixing. 
The rooms aren't cleaned daily and you weren't given fresh towels  however having access to a washing machine was great. A clothes line on tbe roof terrace would be useful.   


Made to feel at home

we stayed at dar el hana for a (too short) two nights. the first night we had planned with the host a dinner on site, and never looked back! it was the perfect moroccan meal, and turned out to be the most reasonably priced and delicious meal we had during our trip. the breakfasts were also amazing, with fresh produce and cheese and bread, and enough coffee to last the day. the room was impeccably clean and beautiful, with traditional moroccan tiling and furnishings. we enjoyed the rooftop terrace a few times as well -- note they stock the fridge with local beer and wine, not often found in morocco. we felt at home and pampered all at the same time. they even booked transport to/from the train station for us (as well as in casablanca!). i can't recommend this hotel enough and also cannot wait to go back myself!!

magical stay in the medina

It was just a fabulous stay. The room is so cozy and warm, the attention so welcoming and warm. We really felt being taken care off, enjoyed the  breakfasts, guidance and conversations. And... take a look at the secret window on top of your bed...

Amazing Experience

We spent two nights at Dar El Hana and the experience was great. The host was really friendly and he helped us to solve a lot of problems. He really cares about the guests and propose very pragmatic solutions. Highly recommended.

Great location and very friendly host

We were a group of 8 friends who were looking to experience the real Moroccan life; the riad location made this possible as it's right in the Medina. The place is small but clean and cozy and has a lovely terrace with a nice view. Josephine was really responsive and supportive during the booking process a criteria for us to chose this place as she has gain our confidence. Simo, the person who takes care of the place was really friendly and a great host, truly open to our different lifestyle and ideas. He prepared a nice breakfast for us with dedication each morning and even organized a surprise birthday party for me with cake and balloons, i was really impressed by his gesture.We felt like home in this place and would definitely recommend it to others.
