Stay here - trust me! Lovely spot, perfect location, and the staff are wonderful. Breakfasts are wonderful and served on its rooftop. I wanted to sleep outside on a patio one night and they went the extra mile to provide a mattress and pillow, etc - even if they thought I was nuts. Only caveat: they are hard to contact via email, etc. 

Unique, beautiful place to stay 

We went there with the three of us in 2 rooms. The rooms are all rather dark and small, though this normal in a Medina. The indicated parking lot was not to find, so we parked elsewhere. Resulting in a porters fee of at least € 5 for a local porter. We arrived in teh hotel and did check in. The staff was very stiff and rigid. Wee went out that night and were constantly hassled by boy trying to sell something. The street is very dirty with animal dropping and is smelling bad too. The following morning we went up for breakfast. A breakfast was served though no eggs were available as these were too expensive. We wanted to change to booking though again the staff was stiff and rigid, eventually this was not possible. The balcony can be seen in teh picture and cannot be called a balcony, it is more some sort of fire escape. The Medina is very commercial, touristic, smelly and dirty. All in all not recommendable at all. 

Minimal service and amenities

Very pleasant stay here, they were only to happy to help us. They arranged a taxi to Tangier for us at a good price. Rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast on the upstairs terrace was very good and the view was picturesque. Would stay there again anytime.

This was a comfortable and friendly riad.  There was an excellent view of "The Blue City" from the terrace.    It required a LOT of stair climbing from our bus along the terrace steps and navigating narrow alleyways to get up to the riad.

Superb accommodation, ideally situated, with a stunning view from the rooftop terrace. Rooms nicely done and very clean - warm and very friendly staff, willing to help with any suggestions and keen to hear how your day was. Breakfast complete and well taken care of. Recommended!

Fantastic Experience

We had a lovely two night stay at Dar Zambra. The view over Chefchaoun is spectacular and the call to prayer added so much atmosphere to the experience. Both days  breakfast was served on the roof and it was terrific, as was the one dinner we had there. The staff were helpful and charming and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was a great one. The rooms were small, but clean, tidy and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again were I to visit the area.

An amazing experience

Dar zambra is a great place we enjoyed a lot and it was a very nice experience. The hospitality, with a delicious breakfast for free, and the wonderful colors in the alleys, I recommend visiting the place and visiting the beautiful city of Chefchaouen, the people are wonderful and there is safety

CHEFCHAOUN nice city

Lovely rooms, great views of sunrise and sunset from rooftop, lovely owners who made us feel welcome right away. We had dinner served on the roof on our last night here that was probably the best lemon chicken tagine of our whole trip. We were delighted to stay here, and it was worth the lengthy “climb” through the Medina!

Worth the walk through the Medina!

Dar Zambra is both near a carpark and also near the main walking street... 
and it is not costly...
and the staff on duty during my stay looks like Zac Afron. (a bonus eye candy for the ladies) :)
Will definitely stay with them once more if I were to visit Chefchauen again. Cheers!

Perfect location! Near carpark, near main walking street

We stopped here for one night because of the views, but unfortunately it was a rainy night. What made this place good was the hosts, they were great. We had room number 4 and it was just like the pictures. The room was small, the bed was comfy, private bathroom, water was hot and great views despite the rain. The nights are cold in the mountains so we turned on the heater and used the extra blanket. Hosts provided a menu for local place that delivered food. Breakfast was delicious, a traditional breakfast with tea, Moroccan pancakes with the best tasting honey I have had, maybe because it was raw not sure, but I wish I bought some home with me. The only downside is that voices do travel from other guests that were sitting in common area outside of our room. Make sure you tell your driver to take you to the top of Medina to walk down as we walked up the steep hill from the bottom in the pouring rain. Travel light because you will struggle with large suitcases. In the morning they called a cab to take us to the bus station that cost 50dh because he came to the door, if not it is only 20dh.
