It is just good to spend a couple of nights. Friendly staff. 

Good lobby. OK brekky. Rooms are of different standards. Some problems with water and bathrooms are solved quickly.

When UB is but off the hot water, this hotel has only a few rooms with hot water. Ask staff about it.

There is nothing fancy at San Hotel in UB. It is really simple, clean, with a good service and tasty breakfast (nothing big). It is really well located: near UB's main square and just two or three blocks from the National History Museum and Natural h. Museum. Also near Cafe 9 (the best in UB with free wi-fi). It is a very decent place to stay when you're in Ulaanbaatar.

Nice place!

The day before I checked into this hotel, I looked for it on foot for over three hours, and I was unsuccessful. The following day my taxi driver couldn't locate the place. With the aid of a map I got at a Ramada Inn, I finally found the place. What frustration!

My room was very nice and the staff was professional, although they spoke almost no English.

A very nice place, but nearly impossible to find

There's nothing outstanding about this hotel - it's a typical soviet-era block hotel with all the problems that come with it.  Sometimes there's no showerhead in the room's bathroom, sometimes the ceilings leak, sometimes the rooms are permeated with the smell of smoke, and the staff sort of speak English, but they will go out of their way to help you, including storing bags while you go on tour, helping you find a sim card, and calling taxis for you.

The rooms, while they do have their problems, are clean and the beds comfortable.  The showers (if your room has a showerhead) have hot water - each bathroom comes with it's own water heater.  They have a western breakfast that is filling, and includes real (not instant) coffee.

The hotel can be difficult to find - it's beside Voyager Plus, down a side street (beside the school) on Baga Toiruu.  The side street is almost opposite Cafe 9.
