This well run hotel is located just a few blocks outside busy areas of Oaxaca. It is just a few blocks to popular restaurants and the Zocalo. The rooms were nicely laid out and quiet. There is a roof terrace overlooking the lovely park across the street. An open area alongside the sink is ample area for a suitcase and hanging clothes. Filtered water is provided. The bar and breakfast area is outside, but covered. Staff is efficient and friendly. I enjoyed the changing items on the breakfast buffet.  The shower is not spacious but more than adequate. This is a great choice for staying in this lovely city.

Charm, friendliness and efficiency

Quaint old building converted into a hotel. Central location. 10-minute taxi to the markets. Walking distance to restaurants. Poor air conditioning, and no fridge in the room.
Nice open-air restaurant & bar. The service was good.


Quaint old building converted into a hotel

We stayed here for two weeks. On the plus side, the location is away from the main fray, yet stilll near enough to be convenient. There is a lovely little park in front of the hotel, a small grocery store around the corner, a laundry within a block, and walking distance to literally dozens of restaurants, including one in the lobby. The staff were quite friendly and helpful.  One the minus side, the rooms are dark—I had to borrow a reading lamp in order to be able to see in order to read in the room. The TV was the size of a computer laptop, but it was rarely utilized. The bathroom could use an update. Overall, a nice stay, but could’ve been better.

Two Week Stay

This hotel is opposite a small park in a quiet part of town but within easy walking distance from everything. Since the rooms do not face the road, they are nice and quiet. Everything is very clean and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I did not try the food, but I had a couple of cocktails, which were excellent.

Lovely staff, nice location

Hotel is good located but thats it!! It is very old the rooms are terrible!!! Wooden beds Blankets in the bed computer screen for TV and the bathroom is like you are in 1960!!! Dark wet and not clean!!! 
This establishment needs renovation!!

Hotel needs renovation

This place won't appeal to the most finicky travelers, but it was an excellent value; the rooms were modest and clean and comfortable; the location was excellent (within easy walking distance of many good places); the on-site restaurant was just fine; and the staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, even arranging taxi rides for us to the town of rug makers.

A decent option in Oaxaca

Spent 7 nights at this hotel and enjoyed it. Very clean and quiet and front desk was helpful.  Short walk to most attractions.  Loved the park across the street where locals practiced yoga, tai chi and exercised to Mexican pop music,
Showering here was a character-builder.  Barely warm water.  The room faced a central courtyard and even with curtains drawn and all lights on it was dim.  Very nice waiters who worked very hard.  Food was ok.  I would stay here again as its assets outweigh the difficulties.

Pleasant hotel, great location

We stayed in three different places in Oaxaca and this place was definitely the best. Quiet, immaculately clean, exceptional staff and nice restaurant. Only slight drawback is the shower temperature never rose above tepid in one room. The other room we had was fine. AC is nice for keeping our stuffy air, but it was either freezing with a.c. or stuffy with it off. No in between. We stayed in other hotels with no a.c. but ceiling fans and that was actually more comfortable. Oaxaca doesn't have the humidity that we suffer from in Virginia summers. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks to the lovely staff.

Peaceful, friendly and helpful

Located across from nice park and rooftop terrace overlooks it. The Hotel grounds are very nice appears to be an older large home or other type of facility. Very Nice staff.  Only 3 minutes walk to start of main centro area but far enough away to keep more quiet. Nice comfy air conditioned rooms. Recommended. 

Great Location and pretty grounds. 

Excellent location, Good price, attentive staff, clean, comfortable  rooms...good wifi and good restaurant on-site.  Only complaint was the room was a little stuffy and was hard to regulate the temperature.  Very recommendable.
