Well-located and with kind staff.  Several good trips was arranged by the staff, so if you want to experience Guadalajara together with other people, this hostel is an excellent choice. The hostel is slightly worn-down, but as said with the kind staff, it does not matter much.

Great big rooms, comfy beds, plenty of common areas, big kitchen, great breakfast, even has cable tv! The staff were also most obliging in picking up my repaired glasses from a nearby shop when I was unable to, couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful!

Great hostel, everything you could want

I booked a private room and bathroom, and it was well worth the extra. 
The room was just across the road from the main hostel, which means the space is very private, with a communal kitchen and lovely outdoor patio /seating areas. Room was large and cool in the hot weather, and very comfortable. Very clean, nice decor and housekeeping was excellent.
Huge plus are the many tours offered by the hostel also, in particular the Tuesday 'Lucha Libre' Trip, with an excellent guide, Sergio.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and I would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed here twice and would probably stay again if I am looking to stay in the Centro Historico area of GDL. First time, I stayed in a dorm. The second time, I stayed in a pvt room (all pvt rooms are located right across the street). The pvt room building is nicely laid out and has a kitchenette, a hangout area and shared bathroom (very clean).

Good:
Location - right in the center, the main street with lots of restaurants and stores.
Safety - safe hostel (not the area). Stayed here twice without any issues.
Staff - friendly
Atmosphere - not great, compared to other hostels I've stayed (in London, Barcelona, etc). The common room has a pool table and a few games available. I would say the atmosphere is 'alright'.
Free breakfast - kudos. Saves you some money.
Amenities - free wifi in all areas of the hostel (rooms, common areas, etc). Bedding and towels available for free. Lockers available in all rooms (bring your own locks). Clean place overall. Pub crawls and walking tours available.

Not So Good:
The area "Centro Historico" is not the safest area of Guadalajara. Althought I stayed here twice with no problems at all. For someone wanting to stay in the center of everything, this hostel is the best option.
The atmosphere can be a bit better. The lights were dim in the evening and the common area felt dead even though there were people hanging out there. The pool table is old and worn out, needs refurbishing.

OVERALL, a good, safe and friendly place to stay offering good value for the money.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, free breakfast

Stayed here only one night, but I couldn`t leave quick enough..
The stairs were narrow and steep up to second floor..and I struggled with my heavy suitcase.. the person in the reseption was un interested to help.. As soon as I came there, I really wanted to leave.. Depressive place. Very dark, closed in, no windows in common area, kitchen was old fashioned equipped, and again very dark.
The female dorm had 7 beds.. it was incredibly hot there, as there is no AC in the place at all.., and this was in April, can`t imagine how it gets in the summer..
The bathroom was also kind of old and dated..
No people in the reception/ frontdesk from 8pm - 8am.
Security or emergency?..
Will never stay there again.. Sorry guys.

Very dark and depressive place..

We stayed there for 3 nights and we had an excellent experience, the rooms are clean and with a descent space (just don't forget to take a lock with you), they lack a bar, but you can take your beer there and drink in some tables and couches they have.

Good, cheep and great location

Hostel is in a good location in the historic area.  Lots of eating options nearby although things quiet down later in the evening. Staff is friendly and rooms are comfortable enough with all the usual hostel facilities and services.
