Hotel Parc Belle-Vue

First impressions are of something a little odd in terms of situation and also decor in the common parts but the hotel and its rooms are actually very nice and comfortable. It’s an assortment of separate buildings including two hotels, a conference centre, a bar/restaurant (which we didn’t use), some offices for church groups and a boarding house I think. The slightly off putting sign “Convict” centre isn’t to do with prisoners but something religious. There are old statues scattered around the grounds which must have come from an old church. The room had a view over the Petrusse Valley and you could also watch the planes coming in to land. The room had everything that I need of a hotel room: * USB sockets and normal sockets next to bed * Plenty of sockets altogether * Full Length mirrors * Plentiful hot water and good water pressure in the shower * A kettle and tea & coffee replenished daily * Cleaning every day * Radiators that were easy to adjust providing just the right amount of heat. It was really nice and warm in the winter. There was also an air conditioning unit but we didn’t need it. * Really quiet * Compact room but cosy with comfortable king size bed * Friendly and helpful reception * Lots of space for suitcases, shoes, lots of hangers and shelving and drawers * Good WiFi * TV with BBC news * a bottle of Water on arrival The location is superb close to the town centre, the Pretrusse Valley park, another park across the road and only about 5 minutes walk from Hamilius Bus Station which is the stop for the airport (buses 6 or 16). From Hamilius it’s also only three short stops on the tram to the station/Gare for outings to other parts of Luxembourg or France/Germany/Belgium. The area feels upscale. The only thing I can criticise is that they only provided paper cups for the hot drinks in the room but I went out and bought myself a mug so all was well. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.
