small hotel, no air conditioning, no restaurant, no breakfast included, not one drinking glass in room even in bathroom, ( wine does not taste very good when you drink it from a paper glass ) nice big bathtub that they will not allow to be used. no drain plug for bathtub or sink and will not give any but you can shower. hotel in very nice location on main street, staff very friendly, hotel very clean. we stayed in a superior double room for the nights of July 29 & 30 for a cost of 280 euro but had to reserve room with Booking.com which charges a service fee so we paid more than if they would have let us book directly. they allow you to book directly with the hotel but i was told i had to use Booking.com and hotel refuses to refund the difference in price. room is very nice and very big with king bed, sofa, big matching comfortable chair, nice cold fridge and very big private terrace with table and chairs overlooking main street of Jurmala. close to beach, 15 minute walk away, many shops and cafes in the area. this was our third and last stay at Alve hotel,. there are many other hotels in the area that are much better and have more to offer in the same price range. we like to be able to eat breakfast where we stay and you can get breakfast from Alve for 9 euro per person but you have to leave the hotel and walk to a cafe that they work with for breakfast, not a very good way to start your day if it is raining and you have to get wet just to eat breakfast.

not bad but would not return

We enjoyed our stay very much! The receptionist was very helpful with everything! The rooms were clean and the bed was a bit hard but I like that! 
Close to the beach and om the main street! Will absolutely visit again!
