It's 5 mins walk from the centre of downtown and entrance of Konpira. Budget price compared with nearby hotels, Japanese dinner and breakfast are surprice, though the dinning area is a bit small and crowded. Charged car park of the hotel is 250m from the hotel. 

The hotel has a public bath with onsen (which I knew in advance), toilet is shared (which I didn't know). The worst thing is that I bought some raw fish for my supper but find there is no fridge in room when I check-in. Except this, my stay is generally okay. We can also access free wifi in room.

This place seems great because it's close (about 1 km) to Konpira-San and the downtown area. However, the owners/managers are fake and rude (and likely biased against people from other areas of Japan and foreigners). 
Earlier in the day, we informed (via phone call through the booking agency) the hotel that we were hiking and asked about laundry. They answered that they have coin-op laundry available. Upon arrival, the lady was friendly but spoke very quickly. I asked her to slow down. She told us that she was going to give us a key to the Onsen, and that we must use the key to unlock and lock the Onsen door, as needed for our use. She spoke a lot about this key, but never gave it to us. She was very clear that we must lock the door when we finish in the Onsen; that way no one else may go in there. Our group consisted of 6 family (elementary-school-aged children, one teen, and adults, mixed) members: one who IS Japanese, another who speaks fluent Japanese, and 3 who speak and understand a passable amount of Japanese. 
There is no off-road pick-up/drop-off zone, so they had us park in the driveway (not a lot of space for loading/unloading). (The hotel across the street has such an area, and it completely overshadows Takaraya.) We saw the laundry machines in the driveway and asked if that was where we could wash our clothes. They answered, "no... Because the machines are broken."
After unloading, and during check-in (around 5-530), the lady asked us what time we would like dinner. We asked what the latest time to sit down is. She said 6:30, so that's what we agreed to. 
One member (not one of the Japanese speakers) went to do laundry. The man informed us of a laundry mat approximately 2 km away. That place was dark and looked dingy, so thankfully the internet offered an option (about 7.2 km from the hotel). In the meantime, half of our party was able to get washed up between check-in and dinner. At 6:15 we were getting ourselves together to go down and the man came to our room and opened the door. He was rather pushy and told us to get downstairs for dinner. At 6:20, the lady made an announcement over a loudspeaker, instructing our family to go downstairs for dinner. (We were the only guests, and were on our way down anyway.) Dinner was good but one family member could not be there because we had to wash clothes (this added negative problem transpired into a huge ordeal). 
When the other person returned from the laundry mat, it was approximately 8:40. 
After settling into the room, that individual went down to the Onsen. It was almost 9:20. The man said no, that the Onsen is closed. He wouldn't allow our member to shower! The lady was no-where to be found so our party member went to the room to get a Japanese-speaker. That's when the man disappeared. 
Around 9:30, (we were still in search of the lady who promised us the Onsen key) we saw the lady come out of the Onsen. The man followed, and locked the door upon exit. They both scurried toward the back (must be their quarters) as the lady told us that the Onsen was closed at 9. It will re-open at 6 a.m. We asked if our party-member could just take a quick, 5-minute shower and they refused! When we inquired about the key, the lady told us that she is not going to give us the key. She said it is our own fault and hastily disappeared into the back! 
At 6 a.m., we had our family and vehicle packed up and ready to go. I had to call the ryokan to get the lady to come to the front and check us out. We did not stay for breakfast, although she would not stop asking us about it. I could not believe that she thought we could stomach her cooking following such inhumanity!!!

Please do not subject yourself to such treatment by going to this place. It was a horrible experience!

Awful customer service 

Very friendly lady runs the place.  Close to Konpira-san and shopping / dinning area.
B&B but  you could also eat dinner there if you book. 
Small spa-bath.  share toilets.  tatami-floor rooms. (which means you have to sleep on the floor with fotons)
