Everything was poor. For Japanese standar I felt like staff was tired or not happy doing their job. Checking time was 4 P.M. while in other hotels was 3 P.M. I arrived at 3:10 and they did not let me in. A lady was going to give the key but a young man told her that was not the time for checking in. I saw other people registering before 4 and letting them in, so I felt disappointed. The room was very small.

Clean and spacious room and good location. The bath amenities sre very good.

This hotel is one of the Toyoko inn hotel chains and the room style is the same as that in other Toyoko inn hotel. The price is reasonable and this hotel is located at the good place for the access to JR station or shopping street.
The parking fee is low, 500 yen per one night. Breakfast was good and enough for me. I enjoyed Dangojiru (a kind of miso soup), which is famous and original soup in Oita.
Totally I recommend this hotel for business or tour people.

Comfortable stay

Very good, near to Oita JR station, around 5-10 to arrive.

Nice location

The Toyoko Inn Hotels are a budget Business Hotel. Their decor and furnishings are all the same and all look dated despite however new the hotel is. 

Once you get over that it is a great value hotel with free breakfast and free wifi. 

The staff were always very friendly and happy to assist with recommendations and tourist information. Many of the staff would speak basic English at the minimum but as we spoke Japanese it wasn't an issue. 

It is in a good location within walking distance to most things you would want. It is close to the train station and also offers carparking which is a bonus when travelling via car.

The rooms are very clean and are of standard size for Japan (small). The bathroom was the standard Pods that most Japanese hotels do. With a little moving of furniture you can spread your bags out and still be able to move around perfectly fine. 

Would definitely stay here again if in the area and needed somewhere to stay.

Friendly Staff - Good Value

I stayed at this hotel for one night only, it was close to the station, only a 10 minute walk, the place was busy and the staff looked stressed and overworked. No pleasant greetings just straight to business. The room I had was quite small but OK for one person. It was snowing the day I arrived and upon entering my room I found it cold inside, but after turning on the heater it soon warmed up. First impressions last a long time and that was my impression. The room had a toilet and bath/ shower, there was instant hot water, so that was good. Breakfast was free but there was no restaurant, just some tables and chairs in the lobby area, it was first in, first served, the food was OK but not what I was expecting, so disappointed with that. The hotel is central to Oita and next to the station, making it a good location. The old saying goes, you get what you pay for, is true, it was a cheap hotel so don't expect too much.


Two nights in Oita

Clean, helpful staff - a problem with wi-fi in my room was solved instantly, and I had good access; free basic(Jjapanese only) breakfast; nice room and bathroom. Convenient location in centre of town, close to station and public transport, shops. Would definitely use again. First time I used Toyoko Inn hotel, and  it lived up to the standards I had been told about by friends. Around the hotel are several places for a cheap snack, and anyway, there the major shopping centre that is part of the station, or you can walk up the main street and find many interesting shops and restaurants. I had a fun afternoon browsing the big department store there!

Close to station in town centre

Love to stay at Toyoko Inn hotels. They all have the same level of comfort and cleanliness. This hotel is situated close to the railway station, it has enough parking space and there is a supermarket across the street. Within 5 minutes walking you enter the large shopping street or the shopping mall in the railway station. Great place to find something for dinner. Will stay here next time again.
