151 reviewsThis Japanese Inn (Ryokan) is ideally situated in the heart of Narita and directly opposite the Naritasan Temple Park which is really beautiful and would be stunning in cherry blossom time. You can easily spend several hours here as the park has many temples and lots of lovely walking paths. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. The warm seated toilet is amazing!. The segregated (male/female) onsen (Japanese bath) is very good and a great way to start/finish your day. The restaurant (we pre booked breakfast and dinner) is a wonderful experience and a Japanese culinary delight. Certainly the dinner is well worth booking for at least one night. The hotel is on the main walking street which leads up to Narita station. There are many great restaurants and interesting shops along the way well worth perusing. It is worth seeing where the queues are forming at lunch time and then waiting for them to subside. The locals know the best places to eat! Wakamatsu Honten is a relatively short (20 minute) taxi ride from Narita International Airport and costs about Yen$4500/5000 making this an easy and interesting place to stay for a few days and have as a layover breaking those long international flights.
