Friendly service.  The host ladies were very friendly and tried their best to communicate with us.   It’s a local traditional inn so don’t expect hotel style amenities and rooms. Only complaint was the noise from neighboring room(s):  you wouldn’t hear their conversations but their foot steps and door closing.  Hope future visitors would learn to be quieter in such an older, traditional Japanese inn.   But anyway the host ladies’ warm hospitality compensated for the annoyance.

Was looking for a stopover for one night and stayed in Yurakuan. The property looks old but it was well maintained. Everything is clean albeit old. The only downside is we book a room for 5 pax which has 2 twin beds and a room for 3 futons. But we can only fit 2 futons as the big table took up space and there’s no where else to place it. So my youngest gal squeeze with me on the bed instead. Other than that, the stay was comfortable

Pro - spacious room, clean, big bath room with big wooden bath tub (depending on selected room type) free parking, not full breakfast included but free toast and toaster in the room. Value for money.   

Note - no English speaking staff, but English explanatory printed out sufficient enough to understand instruction/procedure. 

Con - seem no nice restaurant nearby within walking distance, have a drive a bit but still not far.

First time in Miyazaki. Nice place. Plenty of room for 5 of us. Close to everything. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Japanese style experience.

Nice place to stay in Miyazaki

The hotel was well maintained. The staff were polite and hospitable.The shower area was very cold and not well shaded from the wind. So it may not be that ideal during winter. Otherwise, it had been a very pleasant stay

We arrived late in the evening. An elderly man who did not understand English handed us the key and showed us the way to the room.  The bedroom was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was a bit crude and off-putting with mould in parts of the wooden fixtures. The neighbourhood was residential in nature and the ryokan was in a secluded location. The only restaurant nearby closed at 7:30pm.  The ryokan itself did not have a restaurant but offered two thick slices of bread and butter and jam for breakfast.  There was a toaster in the room should you wish to make toast.

Adequate for an overnight stay

staffs were so kind but this ryokan is a bit hard to get to whom which don’t have their own car. room was cozy especially hot tub was so good for me. dining place having breakfast was so cozy too.

The room was just perfect for us and the owner was very kind. For the breakfast, if you want to try Japanese style breakfast, it's gonna be a good experience but someone who doesn't like vegitables like myself would better not to choose. The Hinoki spa? was amazing and I loved it so much!만족스러운 숙소였습니다. 히노끼탕도 좋고, 깨끗했고 준비가 잘 돼있는 느낌이었습니다. 노부부가 운영하시는 것 같은데 친절하셨고, 앞에 주차공간은 충분했습니다. 조식은 저처럼 육식 좋아하시면 포기하시고... 채소종류좋아하시면 시도해보셔도 좋을 것 같아요! 주인분께서 영어도 못하시고 일본어만 하시는데도 어느정도 알아들을 수 있었습니다.

The hotel was true Japanese style with an outdoor bath, tatami room and outstanding Japanese full breakfasts served every morning by our charming hosts. We would stay here forever!

Amazing stay with lovely hosts!

Traditional style four-storey building situated in a quiet area, provide free parking for guest, walking distance to supermarkets,  the reception staff is a very nice and kind nanny also knows English, the inside decoration is very Japanese style, simple tatami bed room size is big enough for 2 people, managed very clean and tidy, bathroom located outside bedroom open area with shower and a small wooden tub, very privacy and unique, comfortable bedding and soft quilt, high speed wifi inside all area, reasonable price Japanese room, very relaxing room and warm family feeling like home stay, the only thing not perfect  is without fridge.
