Was looking for a hotel near Mito station and was happy to find this hotel as I wanted a Japanese style room. 

Only a few minutes walk from the station and 15 - 20 mins walk to Lake Senba and Kairakuen. Hotel is just right in front of the river with plenty of sakura trees. 

Mito is known for producing Natto and there were a few varieties provided for breakfast. It was tasty and totally changed my opinion of natto. A good spread for breakfast. 

Hotel also provides free WiFi for guests.

The location of the hotel was less than a 10-minute walk from the Mito train station. Even though it is located right next to a road and had some restaurants a stone's throw away, the area was still quiet enough to get a peaceful night's sleep. 

Breakfast was held in the room facing the road, which also happens to face the river lined with trees in full Sakura bloom during the time I was there. The hotel serves breakfast buffet style, and it is simple yet very very tasty. As the area is known for the production of natto, they made a few variations of natto which tasted quite pleasant on their own. After a bad experience with natto a long time ago, this re-introduction was a good one. The breakfast is mainly typical Japanese fare, but there were some buns/breads, yoghurt, salads, sausages and juices that would probably be enough to satisfy those not used to an Asian breakfast. 

Exploring the area is quite easy as it was a short walk to Lake Senba and Kairakuen, both a must-see for nature lovers. The train station also makes it easy to access slightly further out to the Hitachi Seaside Park. However, if you need to get some shopping done, the shopping centre is right next to the train station and you can find a lot more food there as well.

Good Location and Breakfast

Terrible bed. Sheets were not clean. It smelled like sweat. You have to pay extra to be able to watch on your television. Everything is outdated. I expected more for what I paid for. A total ripoff. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I’d it a score of zero.
