This is an excellent hotel!   I arrived at the bus station, asked the staff at the station to please ring the hotel for a ride and 5 minutes later the minibus was there! The hotel was beautiful, clean,  the food was also excellent , not over the top but good. Over all service was excellent. No complains. The Onsen was beautiful.

This is the hotel taking 5 star from my own scoring so far in Japan.
1) Central location with free car park
2) Amazing Food with Kaiseki type traditional service(Dinner and breakfast). All the ingredients and the way that they prepare in nice atmosphere is amazing. I think it was the best food experience for me so far in Japan.
3) Indoor and open air onsen which is so clean.
4) Service quality and hospitality is top class. We wanted to give a surprise gift to our cousin. We asked their restaurant management to prepare a special closed ceramic bowl etc. They perfectly prepared more than our expectation. Moreover, they also gave their own small gift to our cousin.
5) Building also in traditional shape and well maintained.
6) Our room was traditional tatami style and it was big enough with bath tube and toilet.
7) First floor is the biggest souvenir shop in central kusatsu area.

Best location in Kusatsu center and great food, onsen and hospitality.

Beautiful scenery and town. Shopping and services are close, but in 5 or 10 minutes walking you can be in the mountains with natural hot spring streams or 15 minutes skiing. Bustling and quiet at the same time.

Central and convenient to the main attractions at Kusatsu Onsen. Excellent Facility. Good COVID controls in place and still providing stellar services.

The hotel is just in front of 汤畑，and we booked the room with 汤畑view. The hotel is not too new but the facilities are generally ok. The location is convenient with nearby to tourist spot, convenience store and souvenior store just at first floor of the hotel. We experienced good hospitality from hotel staff Mai-san. She is new to the hotel but she try her best to help us for our need. Will definitely return to hotwl ichii if we visit Kusatsu again.

Nice stay at Kusatsu

This was one of my favorite hotels in Japan.  It was Japanese style (Ryokan) which means it's one large room with a floor mat (Reminded me of a Judo/Karate room). With 1 table and chairs (Very close to the ground.) at the time of your choice, the staff will come and move the table and make your bed(s).  We had 2 beds, (Single futons) and they were very comfortable.

The hotel has Male and Female (Separate) Osens (Japanese HotSprings) in the hotel.  I think there might a mixed Onsen but I'm not certain, the signage wasn't very clear.

There's a large gift store and liquor store in the hotel and it's right in the middle of town.

We paid a bit more than average for Japan but this is probably because we were in an onsen town.

I would recommend this hotel.

This is the first time we stayed at Hotel Ichii and we were lucky to get the best view special guest room (no. 802). Their service is excellent, dinner course at our room was great. I would like to extend my appreciation to the staff, Noda san who serve our dinner and Front desk Mr. Takahashi for their great service to us during our stay! We have a memorable trip in Kusatsu.
