Gion Elite Terrace

Boutique hotel located a few blocks from the iconic Yasaka pagoda in Gion. The location made it very easy to walk around old Kyoto / Gion at night after the shops had closed and tourists had left. The pictures on the website are accurate. The hotel was very quiet and comfortable. We stayed in a room with a sauna and wellness bathtub were nice perks. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel staff were knowledgable and kind. The hotel also has free washing machines (and provides detergent) which came in handy. The price for the area and Kyoto overall was very fair. ( Note, if you are traveling with small children, be aware there is a 'love hotel' a few buildings down which can easily be avoided if you turn left when leaving the hotel. It did not feel unsafe nor did we see many people coming in or out. These hotels are located around Kyoto as well as other parts of Japan but I was not expecting to see hourly rates posted as we walked by!) Overall, the location can't be beat, the hotel was quiet and comfortable. We felt very safe staying here and I would definitely stay here again!
