it's the perfect place to stay in niseko-cho! kako is very very nice, friendly, funny, hearty and so helpful. the accommodation is familiar. the food just awesome! again and again... if you need help, ask kako... if you have a wish, ask kako...

Kako and Yotchan are incredible hosts and will do everything to ensure your stay in Hirafu is one of pure joy!

Skiing aside, I experienced a week of culture, language, comedy, music and delicious meals, which was a fantastic introduction to Japan.

If you're planning on staying at Pension Island, be prepared for a most welcoming and happy experience. 

Kako and Yotchan (and anyone else staying at Pension Island for that matter) are about to become your adopted family whilst you're in Niseko. Whether it's sharing Yotchan's delicious dinners or seeing familiar faces on the mountain you'll be so happy you chose to stay at such an amazing establishment.

It's comfortable, warm, the right price and you couldn't ask for friendlier or better service.

Kako and Yotchan are the most amazing hosts. They care so much about your stay with them and do everything to make it as comfortable and happy as possible. Kako will come and collect you from the train  at Kutchan and also loves to ski or snowboard with her guests. Yotchan cooks yummy breakfasts and several courses for dinner. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The showers and toilets are shared which is never a problem in a Japanese Pensipn. We often go to the onsen just around the corner for our nightly bath and relaxation in the hot water. If you love to ski in powder and want to learn a little about Japan while you are here  then I would highly recommend Pension Island in Hirafu.
