Yumenoian Yuyake Koyake

My husband and I stayed in Yumenoi-an Yuyake Koyake from Feb 21 to 25 (4 nights). You enter through the main hotel (it's a hotel within a hotel, their premium accommodations) then they lead you to your actual checkin location. Looks: It's very nostalgic. Fireplace, rocking chairs, cute trinkets here and there. It's all very very quaint and idyllic. Relaxing atmosphere from the get go. Our Room: We had accommodations on the 2nd floor (checkin floor) and it was overlooking the trees. The room had a tatami receiving area, a separate western bedroom, a toilet near the entryway, a powder room, bathroom, and of course, the wooden outdoor onsen. This was love at first sight! I wanted a wooden bath and they delivered! The Food: Amazing doesn't cut it. 4 nights of 10 course winter Kaiseki with no dish repeating. It was wow to the nth power. Plating was exquisite, taste was superb! You could not ask for more. By the end of the course, you were always so full! You would eat lobster, crab, tuna, abalone, eel, mackarel, Shark's fin (this one, I don't approve of but it was the ~. ~). We were given 3 types of sake as part of the course and some wine to start off. Dinner often lasted 2hrs and by the time you were done, you can't eat another bite ^^ It was so so good! Breakfast the next day was either Japanese or Western. Also very very good! Fun to eat too because you got to play around cracking your onsen tamagos. There were at least 7 dishes for breakfast and it'd take you an hour to finish. Fruit at the end :) Service: 5-star service all around especially the restaurant (we spent 3hrs a day there after all). All the ladies and gents were super nice and friendly and always had smiles. We'd say thank you back and forth dozens of times! Can't compliment them enough. These guys are wonderful! <3 shout out to Kazue Imai from the restaurant, she was lovely :) Price: You'd think it was pricey at first glance but once you put all the meals in and the service, it's actually a great deal! Will not hesitate to come back!
