We stayed in a 4 futon (quad) room for our family of 2 adults and a 10 & 13 y.o.  We stayed here because of the easy access to Fuji Q Highland which it was perfect for. We could see the park from our room, also AMAZING views of Mt Fuji.
The hosts were so lovely, friendly and accommodating. They spoke enough English to get by which was very helpful. They made a “welcome (fruit) cake” which was served in the dining area. Very lovely gesture. Hot meals and breakfast were available through the kitchen but we had bought our own food. 
I was surprised (and happy!) to find they provided a pay laundromat. For a few hundred yen I could do a load of washing and dry it, unexpected but a welcome bonus!
There was a kitchen area with microwave, fridge, jug etc.
Communal bath as is custom in such accommodation, but we all had them to ourselves every time.
No TV in the room but the wifi was adequate to keep everyone happy.
The only thing we could say is the walls are very thin. We had to ask the people in the next room to keep the noise down but these were non-Japanese who probably didn’t understand the culture.
For the price and location, you can’t beat Teishaba. Thank you so much!

Authentic Japanese Experience

The guesthouse itself is far from any train station or bus stop. But it is in such a great value with a very friendly staff and guests! I was worried it will be little cold as it was a Japanese style room with Tatami and thin walls. But they provided a gas heater which was very well functioned and warmed up the whole room in a very short period of time. 
It's not very far from FujiQ Highland amusement park and I totally recommend it if you're doing a two day course at the FujiQ Highland. Very cheap but great experience.

Very Friendly Atmosphere

Groups of 5 traveling Japan during sakura seasons and we had our great experience and amazing stayed with the friendly owner, he prepared breakfast for us and yes want to mentioned that the mount Fuji are super duper great view from our room window! We travel on April 2016.

My wife and I and three of our friends stayed one night at Teishaba Guesthouse & Cafe before we climbed Mt. Fuji the following day.  It was a bit difficult to navigate to the location on foot from Kawaguchiko Station but, via Google Maps, we were able to check-in within the allotted time.  It might be better to use other GPS tools such as Facebook or Street view.  After check-in, the owner (Di-san) and his wife showed us to our rooms.  The rooms were very spacious despite what is normally expected for most Japanese-style quarters and our (Japanese) beds were already made for us.  We were given a tour of the guesthouse which ended with us being directed to the common room or dining quarters.  They served us each a piece of "Welcome Cake" to formally greet us all along with a small traditional serving of food for hikers of Mt. Fuji which consisted of steamed/buttered carrots and potatoes (good energy from the ground) and seaweed (good energy from the sea) similar to the traditional New Years' Day meal of cabbage, black-eyed peas, and ham.  Di and his wife were without a doubt the most hospitable hosts I have ever met!  As we prepared for bed, I asked Di if he could contact a taxi to bring us to the bus station so that we could be bussed to 5th Station.  He spoke to me moments later to tell me that he would have a taxi for us but that for only 1,000 JPY more, we would all be taxied directly to 5th Station from Teishaba! For you kindness and hospitality, Di-san, we thank you! We will recommend this guesthouse to anyone who wishes to experience authentic Japanese lifestyle and hospitality for a reasonable price, just be sure to bring Yen when paying for your room!

One Night before Mt. Fuji climb

Stayed a night for going to Fuji-Q highland in the next morning. Very nice and friendly staff, warm and homey atmosphere, comfortable room and futons, and great breakfast.
Really had a wonderful stay and think about going to spend a night or two again in here if I come visit fujikyu or fuji areas again in the future.
