Have stopped at the Hotel before and it was a great experience ,booked again to repeat it, but sadly it was not so.
description of room on booking.com not the same as when arrived at hotel .Receptionist was  friendly both on arrival and leaving.

HL Hotel Campidoglio

The location of hotel is very good. There is a bus and tram connection to city center as well as to the train station. Staff was very friendly and spoke English. Wi-fi works only at the reception but in case you dont have your own laptop you can use some of computers for free. 
Room was clean and well equipped. TV remote control didnt work but you dont come to Turin to watch TV :) 
Bathroom was clean with towells. 
The only dissapointment was that there was a bit of mold in the corner above the window. I stayed there only for one night so I didnt care much. 
Breakfast was OK - cereals, milk, yoghurts, toast breads with honey or jam, fruits and packed pastries. 
I recommend it for budget travellers or not demanding travellers.

You get what you pay for

I.ve spend one night in this hotel, B & B really cheap, so you cannot expect to much. Staff friendly. We asked for a non smoker room but our room was smeling tabaco and the sheets from the had a nice onion smell, horrible sleep. Location is noproblem because you can use public transport and in a bit you are in the centre. 
I will prefer to spend a bit more next time and be closer to centre.

one night in Turin

It was my first time staying more than one day in a city. I looked for the cheapest accomodation in the city and that's really cheap. I wasn't expected big things. I was in the rooftop, the room was tiny and I had to watch not to hit my head (especially when I was in bed), the furnitures were broken (but I didn't use them, so I didn't care so much), there was a TV in the room, but the remote didn't work (maybe the battery was discharged) and there was no sound at all. But I could watch it at least. The room was clean, the toilet too (I didn't use the shower so I don't know its condition...) but there was no soap (maybe it's just me, but I missed it). The breakfast was great, I was very satisfied. The staff was kind, really helpful! And good english speaker too. I think the hotel's location is good too. Around 2 km from center...? I had to walk a bit but it was okay.

For one night

as a penny saver, I thought I'd have a good deal, expecting a decent room anywhere in Italy (it was my first time there). When I got into the room I couldn't believe it: the room was filthy, the bed and furniture were horrible, it was so hot it was suffocating, and toilet room was in the corridor (but to be honest it was decent). the little contact I had with the personnel was fine, and the breakfast was just a collection of wrapped stuff. A good point was the free internet room, unfortunately this hotel must attract the shadiest people because a woman harrassed me for some change.

this hotel cannot even be a last resort as it is quite far from the city center and the nearest subway station. avoid it as you can get a better deal, just don't consider money alone.
