Hotel Gertraud

The Hotel Gertraud is perfect for your stay in Solda, Italy! I don't even know where to start. Service: One example: This year, due to traffic problems we arrived at 23:30 o'clock. No problem, the owner cooked us some fresh food so we wouldn't have to go to sleep with an empty stomach after the 17 hours trip. Any special wishes? The owner can help you with about everything. Food: Starting the skiing/snowboarding day with a proper breakfast is important. Every morning you have a very big buffet to choose from (photos attached). Fresh and good coffee to it, voila. Lunch you mainly eat on the ski huts anyway. About the dinner? We had a range from 4 to 7 courses for one night. Special Gala dinner included. The cook conjures unbelievable dishes with an emphasis on regional food but also from different countries / continents. Rooms: The rooms are always nicely cleaned and decorated. A clean bathroom is important for a comfortable stay and this is guaranteed at Hotel Gertraud. Spa: A nice lounge is located in the basement with a whirlpool, a sauna, a steam sauna and showers (rain shower). Additionally comfortable cots/sunbeds are there to relax. A small space is outside to cool down after the sauna. Other: Some dice and other games are available for anyone that wants to play some games with friends while having a drink. A ski room is in the basement where you can leave your skis/snowboard for the nights and your ski/snowboard boots are warmed up and dried. Free WiFi is available in the whole Hotel although it is not the best (because of the location I think it's hard to find fast internet in whole Solda). But who needs that in this surrounding? Environment: Solda is a beautiful village in northern Italy. It is very small and quiet. It's lovely to make a night walk. Enjoy the mountains around you from about every room. Conclusion: The Hotel Gertraud is a beautiful hotel in a nice and friendly atmosphere and good food. Not only because of that, my family goes there since the 1960s.
