Hotel Alpentirolis

Very good hotel but not perfect. The hotel is very well situated upon the Dorf Tirol (Tirolo) city in South Tirol. There is wonderfull view to the Meran Valley as well as ower Dorf Tirol itself. The hotel is new and well equiped - there are two pools - outer (25 Cels dgr) and heated inner (29 Cels.dgr) ; wellness with saunas ; garden with flowers and palms, natural lakes ; inner and outer restaurants are fine and open for breakfasts and ordered dinners (not buffet or ala carte). The rooms were nice, spacious and clean. There was private whirpool at the balcony with view to the mountains and Meran. There were two terraces (balcony). All was very good. The location allowed us to travel all ower the Merano area. The is one funicula just five minutes walking from the hotel. The city center is also some five minutes througt famous apple plantation - very typical for South Tirol! The pools allowed us to refresh after the whole day trips at awesome mountain. The breakfasts were absolutely not sufficient for FOUR stars hotel !!! There was not enough choice of meals ; the staff were strange - they looked like they tried to hide or avoid any contact with guests! They have notice in the Menu offer for example omeletes or scrambled eggs when asked staff but there was nobody who would lime to prepare it. 😀 It was very strange. Moreover they were not able to refill tje meals and - in the end - there were for example only 2 boiled eggs, ten slices of speck, only several pieces of various bakery products, etc. - that all for more than 15 people, they were unable to refill juices or milk so our kids have several times had no milk for breakfast. It looked like the staff were not the familly who owned the hotel - this is only explanation of such behavior I could understand. We expected the same opened and friendly staff as we are used to meeting in Austria. Therefore we were totaly disgusted by the staff. My notice for the hotel owners: Please change the staff! Or explain them how to do their work. Maybe the hotel has enough guests and does not need to change anything but it is a shame to spoil such a super hotel! But I have to stress that although little bit expensive the hotel itslef is really very good not obly for pairs but also for families with children.
