603 reviewsJust returned from this lovely hotel. We were on a Shearings coach trip staying 7 nights. Our room was lovely, a bit old fashioned but that added to the charm, everything worked in the room which is rare at most hotels and the bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely big balcony at the front of the hotel which we'd paid extra for with it being our wedding anniversary, sadly the weather meant we hardly used it. The food at the hotel is exceptional for a Shearings holiday, 3 courses every night, lots of choice beautifully presented. We enjoyed the variety of pasta starters the best. Breakfast was also good and plentiful. The staff were lovely, friendly and smiley. There's entertainment some nights mostly provided by the talented owner, hearing him playing the saw was a real highlight! We went out most nights though as the hotel is in such a great location it's about a 5 minute walk down to the lake. The hotel also has a lovely pool and gardens outside where I believe meals are served in the summer. The hotel is right next to the bus station and local bus service is very good. It's also opposite a great supermarket with the most extensive range of wines, oils, cheeses etc. I've seen in a long time. Loved it here!
